Any chance of an update for 1.4?

Scalapher The Artificer 6 Jan, 2023 @ 11:30pm
Has anyone tried this in 1.4?
handsomegrape 28 Dec, 2022 @ 10:27am
So does anyone have any intention of updating this or can it be passed on to someone else?
Hawler 6 Dec, 2022 @ 1:13pm
nvm doesn't work, but also doesn't break anything so that's something
Hawler 5 Dec, 2022 @ 2:26pm
okay, this seems to still work! ty ty
Hawler 5 Dec, 2022 @ 2:08pm
Anyone know if this still works in 1.4? I mean it just affects the styling station, right?

@TurtleShroom It needs C#. I recommend going to other places to get help for your issues.
TurtleShroom 12 Nov, 2022 @ 9:19am
Okay. What exactly is outdated about it? I can try and fix it myself, if it can be done in XML.
CatLover366  [author] 9 Nov, 2022 @ 4:34pm
@TurtleShroom the race that you are having issues with is outdated
TurtleShroom 9 Nov, 2022 @ 2:23pm
Does this Mod fix stuff with the Humanoid Races Mod glitch that causes log spam?

This is how it should look, I managed to fix it in the race where I encountered this style change bug:
<styleSettings>
<li>
<key>HairDef</key>
<value>
<hasStyle>true</hasStyle>
</value>
</li>
<li>
<key>BeardDef</key>
<value>
<hasStyle>true</hasStyle>
</value>
</li>
<li>
<key>TattooDef</key>
<value>
<hasStyle>true</hasStyle>
</value>
</li>
</styleSettings>

@Posh Octavia the issue with the infinite hair style change with certain races and even human pawns from other factions is from what I can gather to do with the race file settings, often races are assigned a style preference or like "TribalHair" or "UrbanHair" or whatever, but if your ideology doesn't include the entirety of those hair selections in it's "accepted hair/bears/tattoo config" the pawn is constantly trying to change to a hair style it does not have access to due to either its current ideology or the colonies ideology. The solution I found was to go into the race file settings and at the bit where it says tattoo/hair/beard preference to remove any reference to a style, then when you reload the save, draft the pawn to break the loop and then undraft, they should then change their appearance once.

@Posh Octavia @Plaguefox I had that problem with a modded race, and someone released a patch that allowed them to have any beard. Unfortunately there is no patch for the race of the pawn doing it to me this time. Maybe one of the patches that erases everyone's beard would work.
Posh Octavia 5 Jun, 2022 @ 1:07am
i think maybe it doesnt work if the endlessly annoying automatic style changing job is alreadyfiring and stuck in its typical infinite loop. god i wish there was a mod to completely remove automatic style changes from the game, i cant do it by deleting the job defs, it just breaks iti
Posh Octavia 5 Jun, 2022 @ 12:08am
unfortunately it seems that this doesnt actually affect the persistant bug with 1.3 that causes modded races to infinitely use the styling station
Dracon 27 May, 2022 @ 12:00pm
Same problem as Plaguefox, unfortunately :/

@The Gaming Archaeologist
The defensive exo frame does not stop ranged weapons from being used, make sure you're not wearing an actual shield belt alongside it
KiTsu 11 May, 2022 @ 12:33am
i get the loop of changing hair and never being satisfied with it, but to be fair it was an issue before i installed this mod, i was hoping it'd fix it.

main difference is that, while still ending up looping, the hair stays the same instead of changing every time the progress bar fills.

i assume it has something to do with the hair/race mods i use. im not happy about it but i just end up building styling stations to change something if i need to then just get rid of it after.

that being said if anyone *does* know a work around...
The Gaming Archaeologist 6 May, 2022 @ 8:45am
This has been a godsend in regards to alien races and ideologies that block styles that they aren't allowed...
ShielÐ 6 May, 2022 @ 8:29am
@DragonKing do you have any log? Coders aren’t wizards and know how might be wrong with your game
DragonKing 6 May, 2022 @ 6:25am
I have an issue were pawns get stuck in a loop of trying to change their style, and never succeed. Could it be caused by this mod?
The Gaming Archaeologist 21 Apr, 2022 @ 11:17am
This mod sounds like a damn life-saver! With all the different races I have, various ideologies disable things that certain races MUST wear or MUST have in regards to tatoos and such. Before I knew of this issue I discovered one pawn that kept using the bench until it collapsed from malnution and tiredness.
ShielÐ 20 Apr, 2022 @ 9:56pm
@XelNigma While that is true, some modded hair are bugged and your pawn will be pissed off even if the modded hair is part of your ideology. And some people likes to keep their pawn's look for lots of reasons. From story telling to roleplaying to just meme-ing around and they don't want to go into their ideo menu with dev mode on every 3 minutes to fix something that might not be fix able.

tldr; Hair are stupid.
XelNigma 20 Apr, 2022 @ 9:50pm
maybe a dumb question, but dont pawns only change hair/tattoos when what they have isnt "supported" by their ideology?
So... if they are changing off what you want just adjust the ideology to allow the hair you want?
Clyde 18 Apr, 2022 @ 4:50pm
I can agree with beelzebul I still get the prompt that one of my colonists wants to change their style and they still do it even know I double checked and have this mod turned on??
ThatBartGuy  [author] 16 Apr, 2022 @ 5:37pm
Are you sure you turned the mod on cause the settings were there for the few people we had testing this.
おちゃま 16 Apr, 2022 @ 4:38pm
i don't understand what this does. i got the debuff from my colonists so i installed a styling station. looked around in it, left, and my colonist wound up changing himself into some ugly mess anyways. looked for the mod in mod settings and it's just not there. what exactly does this do? because it isn't doing what is advertised. :zagpls:
