You should be able to move it by simply dragging it. Unless you have the "Lock window positions" option enabled in the settings.

If you want to use it to preview tiles for e.g. quest sites, you can do that. Or if you are playing the gravship scenario, you can preview tiles to land on. Otherwise, probably not.

If you enter the same world seed you used the first time and the same tile location, you should be able to get the same map again. The sequence of rerolls will be the same as the firs ttime.

I have a weird issue, I selected and previewed a map after the scenario/start of the game, and my colony started elsewhere do i have to toggle a specific option for odyssey?

No, this was removed in the 1.6 update, it is only relevant in 1.5 and earlier.
Sorry for the confusion, I have now updated the description to reflect this.

"Faster caves and river generation: Significantly speeds up generation of maps that have caves or a river. This feature slightly changes how maps with a river generate, and can be disabled in the settings if this is not desired."

Is this feature still in? I can't find the setting, if I want vanilla generation.

@megla found the problem, its the vehicle framework mod, go into mod settings, vehicle framework, on the main tab, set beach and river size multiplier to 100%, as for some reason in the mod its set to 0% by default. now my rivers are back, so it isnt this mod thats causing that issue

@Megla im having the same issue, after testing, its not this mod thats causing it, the rivers themselves are not generating, the map preview is just showing that, will let you know if i find a fix or whats causing it

Im having an issue that I was not yesterday where I click on a spot that should have a river and the preview wont have a river at all, Its doing it for about 90% of river tiles

- Fixed compatibility with Dubs Bad Hygiene
- Fixed compatibility with ReBuild Doors & Corners
- Fixed an error that randomly caused previews to fail
- Fixed some of the new DLC map features not being affected by seed rerolls

Am I insane or did this also used to show a preview of the planet on the screen where you're setting world settings and factions and whatnot? Or did something else do that?

m00nl1ght OHHHHHHHHHH Okay... so instead of doing it how I've been doing it, just pin them and use the refresh seed. I'm big dumb. I was doing this the hard way apparently.

I assume you mean pinning in the seed reroll window? When you click the "Refresh seeds" button in the top right of that window, all seeds are randomized, except for the ones you have pinned. So you can use this to keep a few seeds you like, while randomizing all others.

For the life of me, I can't figure out the purpose of pinning a map in the preview. At first I thought it would let you save the ones you liked as you kept looking around to make your final decision. It didn't do that, because when I zoomed in, and back out to load more, they disappeared.

What exactly is the purpose of the pinning option?
this is probably one of, if not the best mods i saw in my life

Only the seed is changed when a map is rerolled, nothing else.

I noticed the rerolled maps seem to generate with significantly few ruins (but has other things like piles of dead vehicles). Is this a byprodcut of the reroll script?

Hey! Does the preview window respect the "local map size" setting? Like, if I set it to "Large", will the both preview and actual generated local map be that size?

it was throwing some exception, but I've read into the bug reports and there was mention about unsubbing and resubbing to harmony, which fixed it and also fixed this mod not showing 1.6 in-game.
