It's a great mod for samus, makes her cooler than what she is in the smash saga, now i can do even more combos and ruin even more friendships

I think the taunt menu would be *way* more intuitive if it exited once you selected your powerup. Like with Shovel Knight

the bombs are too overpowered i was able to just spam and never get hit because the ball hurtbox is so small. The way to fix this is honestly just make it so she can only use 3 bombs at a time and there that should fix the problem. if you could fix that this would be 6/5 stars, other than that great character so much effort was put into this and it just looks fabulous!

@WatcherCCG she has about 200 sprites, many sounds, recently there's been a rivals patch that broke memory allocation and causes heavier characters to lead to crashes and whatnot, I hope it gets fixed soon

Just how many assets are in this thing? Totally lags out the game client trying to load her in the test room. Probably some fault on my end, I know, but maybe someone out there has advice on how to resolve it.

This character is excellently made, the attention to detail is unmatched. You can tell a lot of time and effort goes into tuning her, making her move set fluid, balanced, and most of all staying true to source material while still being very imaginative. Every non-OC RoA custom character creator should strive to do what you guys have done here.

One small issue with her: she was forced into a compactor against her will and came out of it welcomed with open arms by Short Kings. I love everything about this character, but the height/proportions of the sprite evoke a feeling of the uncanny like no other, I cannot play her.

Good character but I don't like how the missiles are limited. I know that's what its like in metroid but it doesn't fit well (also her back air uses missiles tf). She also looks WAY too small, but thats more of a nitpick. I love this version of samus more than the smash version.

Just so you're aware, as of the latest patch, trying to view any costume after the Fusion Gravity Suit or before the default palette causes the game to crash. Otherwise, excellent work!

Just tested this and yes, if you spam nspecial and jump you can infinitely jump. I couldn't get it to kill me off the top blast zone though, maybe cause I tried it in practice mode? Either way, that's a bug.

did you know: if you hold n-special (normal special) in the air and jump you jump and if you spontaniously you can actually continue to jump until you either die at the top barrier or die at the end of time

@leopaof, I changed the button layout for Taunt and it now works perfectly. I now learned to NEVER set Taunt to any Joystick direction. Had the same problem with other workshop characters some time ago.

I wanted to mention something I noticed: I cannot exit the weapon customization menu (taunt) while using a controller. This is my setup (*using a Switch Pro Controller*):

B: Jump
A: Special
Y: Normal Attack
X: Strong Attack
R Stick: Taunt
L/R Trigger: Parry/Air Dodge

Is there any workaround to this?

As a big Metroid fan, I've been waiting for a legit and serious Samus for a while. And this one was well executed. It even has a custom status UI (Damage %, Ammo, Icons, etc.) Really loving it. And I WILL mention the different sprites when facing left or right. Amazing work on that. Also, the intro animation sprite looks a little chunky imo, but that's just me being nitpicky. I definitely love this character.

Ok, I even asked Aaron for it, the d pad is mapped to taunt and the only way for you to get directional input out of it is remapping it to walk essentially making it a second left stick, this means that I can't do anything about it and it's entirely up to you if you want to navigate the menu with the d pad or not

The normal menu works with the d-pad. Why is that? Snake also allows for menu navigation with the d-pad. So there's got to be a way to do it right?

Those inputs don't exist, there's no way to check whether they are pressed or not since Dan Fornace didn't actually code them in for us to use them

Huh, didn't know that's how the d-pad was setup.

Could you rebind taunt to another key so your thumb/finger doesn't move off the left stick? I use a steam controller which has buttons on the underside of it, I've set the left one to taunt. There's also always clicking in the left stick, one of the triggers/bumpers you don't use for parries, etc etc

There's a problem tho, the d-pad actually doesn't exist, every button of the d pad is mapped to taunt in game so you really can't use it as directional input

Yeah, I'm aware, that's why I'm asking that the d-pad be considered for navigation in the quick version. having to take my thumb off of where I normally keep it to use the quick menu defeats the purpose of it being quick.

Cesarean Pizza remember that there is also a quick version of the menu to use, just switch to it by pressing taunt at the start of the match

You have a good point about that @ATalksToSelf. I wasn't aware of that mechanic when I wrote that comment. Perhaps a good compromise would to be that you have to hold taunt to keep the menu open and it closes on release. It could save a couple of frames. I keep getting knocked out of it before the buffs apply. Being able to act sooner when closing the menu would be great.

I think the reason for the menu not closing upon selecting an item is so you can select more then one at a time. It'd be impossible to stack beams if you couldn't pick more then one, and what about if you wanted both ice missiles and the wave beam at the same time?

This is a fantastic mod. I have a few issues however.
For the quickmenu, it would be great if I could choose the power up with the d-pad. Also, when I've chosen my power up it would be expeditious if the menu closed itself. Finding time to open it, pick something , then close it is difficult with your opponent closing in on you. Lastly, I feel like the fully charged shot sprite should be bigger it doesn't look much more powerful than a normal shot.
