Also what's neat about good universe is that not everything is explain andmore than often it cannot be anyway the rest is just a logical flow .
Why dwarfs would cut themself from cav and movements anyway ?
They are smart not dumb and they are a real civilisation.
Maybe you could argue they would use "mecha" 'n' machinery only, ok, but then, where are they in the game ?
That's right so who cares.
Also before having iron for flesh well you need to start with flesh anyway.
1. Up their speed give them ork boar speeds (70) for the "lighter ones", or at least 66 crap cav speeds (would be good for the heavy armored one)
2. From a balance perspective, check out the Greenskin boar rider counterparts. Reduce the MA and MD stats by a similar or a bit smaller margin.
Maybe +25 armor on the Light variant and +30 armor on heavy. -2 MA and - 4 MD on low tier. - 6 MA and - 8 MD on the high tier. Maybe 30 MA and 58 MD if you swap to Ironbreaker heavy base (close to Grail Guardian stats), 40 MA 30 MD 60 charge and 25 Armor for the slayer variant (Would be a killy charger, Savage orcs get armor from the mounts).
Slayer goats with ORANGE BEARDS and braids ofc! xD
The idea of rebellious rowdy young dwarf warriors forming a cavalry unit appeals to me even lore vise.
Ranger cavalry is plausible as well. Those surface roaming weirdos are not right in the head to begin with.
I understand you went with an "elite" heavy cav. I would maybe relegate the Ironbreakers to the role of heavy ANVIL cavalry, like grail guardians.
Hammerers are more a stick in the mud traditionalists than Ironbreakers.
Ironbreakers are more like professional soldiers, they could maybe adopt a cavalry doctrine more readily, some may come from the rebellious young warriors.
That brings us to the potentially missing HAMMER of the bunch. Maybe SLAYER cavalry. Slayers do not care about many things that much anymore. Cavalry gets them closer to their doom faster! (Giantslayer models and stat base, with 2 axes?, Light armor rams like Rangers)
I am getting some strong WOW vibes, i loved my Ironforge Ram mount.
