The disaster not firing when in a 'Golden Era' is a nice touch
I can’t read English,I wish someone would teach me.
I don't know if it's intentional or not but it seems that the disaster doesn't count the years if the nation is in a golden age.
Besides, the criteria is in practice more demanding than just 100 years - considering there can be one active disaster in the world at a time, one can get it in late 1700s.
However, the disaster trigger way too easily. It doesn't make that the world thinks 'oh yeah, x has been an empire since y year, it's bout time they crumble', even tho said empire is very solid
I would much prefer that the start of the disaster becomes easier to trigger overtime, and start whenever the empire become unstable (kinda similar to court & country event)
After that, the empire would slowly loss reputation (disaster progress), with eventually the start of the proper decline (disaster start)
Said disaster'd be fairly long, and exponentially have disastrous consequences, with a slow start that can be ignored, but eventually it would become insurmountable and end only with a very stable empire (after like ~10y) or the empire being a shadow of what is was
But then again, while my version is probably more accurate, yours is more fun.
I already have a few mod under me belt, so I can make my version and let the user choose if you'd like
Well, I wouldn't say that they survive it no problem. Yes, mostly intact in terms of territories, but I did find them bankrupt after one eclipse, which kinda makes them an easy target.
