:) It's not updated anymore, but if you're getting use out of it for an older version, then I'm happy to help.
Goblinja 24 Dec, 2024 @ 7:44am
Been playing with this mod for years, thanks for keeping it updated, it's a classic!
Xinotai 30 Jun, 2024 @ 1:57am
Thanks for answering anyway^^. Right now I bypass this issue by manually adding the origin-features via the console (have to write down their name somewhere before I forget them) Hopefully this can be adressed from the EoS side.
And I don't think, that PD is removing it but somehow "blocks" it? If you have PD on and still choose a vanilla 9 planet class for your homeplanet, the features do NOT get blocked/cancelded. But how this works? Changed the way planets are adressed? Flags? I fear, I have even less clues^^
doctornull  [author] 29 Jun, 2024 @ 3:43pm
Interesting, it didn't used to do that, and I have absolutely no idea how to make it stop.

How annoying that PD is deliberately removing content from other mods.

This isn't the right place because I have no clue how to help, sorry!
Xinotai 29 Jun, 2024 @ 3:24pm
Greetings, idk if this is really not needed anymore or if this is the right place for the problem. But it seems, that the planetary features of the elven origins get canceled if the Homeplanet is NOT sth out of the vanilla 9 (Continental, tropical, arctic etc.) Even the new "vanilla-variants" by PD cause this to happen, for example the forest world (continental-variant) or the blossom world (tundra-variant i think). Same Problem for the rare non-variant types (Superhabitable, Tidally locked and Karst).
So some kind of patch could still be needed, i just don't know if it's the intention of this patch^^
Helios 17 May, 2024 @ 11:40am
So you can play without the patch while paying attention to the starting planet?

Anyway, thanks for all your hard work!
Aregemoth 14 May, 2024 @ 10:45am
Thx for your hard work~
doctornull  [author] 14 May, 2024 @ 10:25am
Nice! I'll be glad to retire this
Aregemoth 14 May, 2024 @ 9:31am
This patch is not needed in it's current state because Gatekeeper completely reworked his new planet classes. Now there's a problem with planet generation. PD uses a script that turns all custom planet classes into vanilla ones with modificators. This can rewrite planet features if your starting planet is nonvanilla class.
doctornull  [author] 11 May, 2024 @ 6:57am
I did some initial testing and the combo does not crash, but PD seems to have made some changes and I've not had a chance to test through them.
YutaniWakazashi 11 May, 2024 @ 6:38am
Does this still work post-3.12?
doctornull  [author] 26 Jan, 2024 @ 10:11am
It's only the elven origins, not the races in particular.

Permafrost orign and drow underground origin each have a new habitability preference, and this adapts those preferences to account for new PD planet types.

You can use the portraits without this mod if you just ignore the origins -- and you don't use custom AIs with the new origins, and you don't install the Spawns Enabled mod for pre-scripted elf AIs.
Ganyu 25 Jan, 2024 @ 5:18pm
And if I use only the shipset and not the race, I have my own race, do I need this patch or not?
doctornull  [author] 13 Dec, 2023 @ 4:15pm
It should still work in 3.10, I don't think anything changed with respect to habitability or planet types.

It may be some time until I can update the file, please let me know if there are any issues.
Athena 7 Dec, 2023 @ 5:27pm
Does this work for 1.10?
doctornull  [author] 4 Nov, 2023 @ 7:32am
Added new PD planet types.

Seemed like Cold / Dry / regular Gaia got special treatment and I'm not sure if they're handled correctly -- let me know if you find an issue, everyone!
doctornull  [author] 26 Oct, 2023 @ 9:00am
Current mod doesn't crash and 3.9.3 seems stable enough to debug.

But I think there are some new PD planet types which aren't included yet.
Xinotai 25 Oct, 2023 @ 4:02am
Someone other then the author can tell if this still works? (ofc author can tell as well if testing is possible again^^)
Modo 10 Oct, 2023 @ 1:34pm
I've read that you can revert back to 3.9.1 and it doesn't crash anymore.
doctornull  [author] 6 Oct, 2023 @ 2:36pm
I keep getting crashes in 3.9 for early dialog boxes, so I haven't been able to play past year 50 in the newest patch.

It's a vanilla bug but it's preventing me from doing much testing.
Modo 6 Oct, 2023 @ 1:44am
Any news on whether this still is fine to use or progress on making it compatible with 3.9?
doctornull  [author] 21 Sep, 2023 @ 7:37pm
Gotta take a look at what changed in Planetary Diversity, then I can get this up to date.

But yeah EoS is now updated too, so it can be done.
Lanna 21 Sep, 2023 @ 5:53pm
is this gonna get updated to 3.9?
doctornull  [author] 12 May, 2023 @ 8:59am
It's updated for 3.7, but Elves of Stellaris hasn't updated for 3.8 yet so I'm not touching this until after they do whatever changes they need.

Probably it won't need an update, but I'm going to check when the underlying mods update.

If someone else wants to take it over, I'll help with the handoff :)
KillHunter 11 May, 2023 @ 11:52pm
Will this mod still get updated?
doctornull  [author] 22 Apr, 2023 @ 5:54pm
Found one broken thing when checking 3.7 compatibility -- the Permafrost elves (Lunari) have an event which punishes terraforming their capital, and that event allows the normal Ecumenoplis but not the new PD Arcologies (like Eco-Arcology).

So I've removed the special decisions which would transform to PD Ecu types, and only allow the base Ecu for the Lunari capital.
dhkatz 22 Mar, 2023 @ 12:10pm
Thank you I figured as much :)
doctornull  [author] 22 Mar, 2023 @ 12:09pm
Should be!

I don't use PD anymore so this might not get support in a timely way, but I think 3.7 changes didn't touch habitability and this mod only impacts that area.
dhkatz 22 Mar, 2023 @ 12:05am
Is this compatible with 3.7 still?
doctornull  [author] 7 Feb, 2023 @ 4:33am
@Zutos - I don't think my patch touches the normal elven arcology decision -- just allows the special PD ones to also work in spite of the special elven blockers, which ordinarily block them.

Yeah I don't know how to do localization, and apparently it changed recently. If you know how, please tell me.
Zut0s 4 Feb, 2023 @ 10:49pm
also I didn't get the industrial district deposit when doing the normal elven arcology decision
Zut0s 4 Feb, 2023 @ 9:50pm
localization for the elven arcology decisions is missing
Ulthar 30 Dec, 2022 @ 8:57am
Thank you!!!
doctornull  [author] 3 Dec, 2022 @ 6:01pm
- Updated Drow and Silvermoon habitablity lists to include new PD classes, think I got them all.

- Did not fix Elf origins to handle Rare PD worlds right (but did pass on a fix to the EoS team, fingers crossed that it's acceptable)

- Did not fix Alvari ring on size 30+ planets. It's there -- you can see it if you do "planet_size 25" on your homeworld -- the fix would be a bigger model, which I don't know how to do (yet)
Xinotai 3 Dec, 2022 @ 2:42pm
For an amateur like me it seems like a conflict between eos saying (with eos origin) you get 2 guaranteed planets of the same class, no matter which and pd saying, rares do not.
I guess the modifier issue won't be an issue, if the class of the guaranteed planets is chosen as intended by pd.
As for the Avari ring: (again amateur asking) can it's scale be depending on and therfore varying with planet size?
doctornull  [author] 3 Dec, 2022 @ 2:15pm
@Xinotai - thanks for checking that!

I'll see what I can do about the 1st issue (rare without modifiers).
Xinotai 3 Dec, 2022 @ 2:04pm
As for the Avari ring: i guess if i play with giga (-> planetary arcology rings) and the vanilla orbital rings, it's no big issue if one of the many rings around my home world isn't visable^^ (orb ring + 3 arc rings (+ avari))
Xinotai 3 Dec, 2022 @ 2:01pm
After testing with just pd + submods and asking on the pd-discord i have some more information:
Rare planet classes only get guaranteed planets from within their category, NOT the same class. It's not intended to have 3 rare planets at the start.

So the 2nd issue mentioned before is indeed "working as intended". My bad for bringing it up^^
Regarding the 1st issue, instead of the same rare planet class without the modifier, the "correct way" would be 2 (non-rare) planets within the same category
doctornull  [author] 3 Dec, 2022 @ 1:04pm
@Xinotai - interesting, thanks for the reports.

For Avari ring, it seems to be related to planet size -- Superhabs are bigger than legal for normal planets. Not sure what I can do about that.

For starting class / guaranteed habitables, what happens with ONLY the PD mods installed? What is the expected behavior?
Xinotai 3 Dec, 2022 @ 9:55am
greetings again, found some issues:
(mods used: pd +submods, elves, this one)

1) empire set up: rare planet class as homeworld, elven origin
the guaranteed habitable planets have the same class as the homeworld BUT are missing the unique planet modifier of the rare planet class. They also cannot be ramdomized at the game start via the pop-up event choice provided by the pd-mod.

2) empire set up: rare planet class as homeworld, normal origin
the guaranteed habitable planets do NOT have the same planet class as the homeworld (they do if the homeworld is a non-rare class from the pd-mod)
doctornull  [author] 25 Oct, 2022 @ 3:21pm
Interesting, I'll take a look, maybe after 3.6 though -- currently I've been playing the public beta and it's not compatible with either mod.
Xinotai 25 Oct, 2022 @ 2:31pm
greetings, the avari ring (elven foundation origin) isn't visible on superhabitable worlds (galaxy map) while it is on other planet classes (tropical, biolumin.)
doctornull  [author] 25 Sep, 2022 @ 4:24pm
I haven't looked at PD in a while, are there any incompatibilities that you're seeing @Ashe and Irene ?

Probably will update when PD's updates calm down a bit, unless there's something urgent.
House of Krey 25 Sep, 2022 @ 8:36am
Will this be updated for 3.5.*?
Witherfork 6 Sep, 2022 @ 3:46pm
Awesome, thanks! :)
doctornull  [author] 6 Sep, 2022 @ 10:11am
@Witherfork - should be good to go now, the new function call was already in place so removing the outdated function seems to be all that was necessary.
doctornull  [author] 6 Sep, 2022 @ 7:33am
Got some help from the EoS devs and I think there's a possible fix.

Gimmie a bit and I'll test it out.

Sorry for the disfunction, haven't been using PD recently.
Witherfork 3 Sep, 2022 @ 3:39pm
The compiler is breaking in common/decisions/elf_pd_decisions.txt, the replace_elven_incompatible_deposits doesn't appear to be valid at this point.
vonTannenberg 26 May, 2022 @ 6:59am
Okay, thanks for the response.
I was afraid of something like this, but it would be incredible, if you could make it happen.
doctornull  [author] 26 May, 2022 @ 6:09am
@voriTannenberg - that's correct, you should have duplicate projects -- but the regular ones should be unavailable on Elven origins because of the blockers you can't remove.

There is an Elven Arcology texture displayed on the EoS mod page, but it's not used in the mod itself so I'm not sure if it's accessible for me to use. I'll ask the EoS authors about it, I know PD has code to use specific textures for Earth so there should be a way to use the Elfumenopolis image (if it's in the mod).
