I believe it still works, considering it doesn't really have major updates that changes some fundamental systems like how ArcCW and MW got.

Ah yes.

Apparently TFA themselves wanted to quit Gmod addon making entirely and move on, so they removed it and transferred the addon to some people else now like YuRaNnNzZZ and DBot, who's currently maintaining them.

Well it's because the previews are made with the "poster 2" command, which makes them being rendered in 4k resolution, but it cannot bring the same water reflection, therefore they look like that.

But the one with stats is just a screenshot, since the poster command would get rid of all HUD elements, so yeah.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Valve just slapped a concrete texture + some photos on the pistol before they made the finished texture
