The new uniforms are missing.

Well, my computer was broken for a few weeks so I wasn't able to play Stellaris 3.4.5 for a while. It finally got fixed today, so I hoped I could finally resume my game from before the update after so long, and it turns out I'm still having problems related to the two different human species. It seems this mod isn't properly swapping their order of positions in the species creation tab, and thus on 3.4.5 both mods are basically identical, and thus broken for my game. (They're both following the order the portraits are placed in version 3.5, which I am not playing as it changes too much balance at this point.)

@John McCreedy I see. Thanks for the information.
John McCreedy 30 Sep, 2022 @ 4:08am
Nope. How in the world would I have the local mod, you're the author not me? As I said, it's limited only to when you create a new race and since that's not an every day occurrence who cares? It was an FYI only.
Deadrick  [author] 28 Sep, 2022 @ 2:04am
Baldness is fixed now. Sorry it took so long. Haven't played any games in a few months so I hadn't noticed the comments. Continuing with the other mods.

@High Ground Thanks for the fix. Saved me time looking for the issue. :cozybethesda:

@John McCreedy Either you have both a local mod with the same name and are subscribed to the mod at the same time or the portraits are made with the reversed order of the new and old character portraits in which case you should try the Remastered Human portraits mod instead. The only difference between the mods is what order the new and old portraits are in.
John McCreedy 23 Sep, 2022 @ 4:59am
The reason it was changed was because they changed how portraits work in Toxoids. They now use the same assets to produce a range of styles. There was a dev video on it. Also as a point of note to the mod author, the fix outlined is not complete, it's a sticking plaster. The new portraits are still without hair in the civilization creation screen. The main pic displays correctly but the animated thumbnail does not.

Thanks High_Ground!

Thanks, High Ground, for the fix info!

Toxoid DLC update 3.5.1 broke the hair selection by changing the word "hair" to "attachment" for some unknown, illogical, reason -_-

THE DIY FIX:

Default Steam Workshop file path of the portrait file we need to edit:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\281990\2808669452\gfx\portraits\portraits

1) Right-click on the file "07_portraits_human"

2) Edit with Notepad++ (google for download AND do not use windows' notepad!!!) or if you have windows 11 use note pad.

3)[Ctrl + F] to find all the "hair_selector" words and replace with "attachment_selector" in one go, then save.

4) Enjoy! Ps. Same fix applies to other SE mods eg. SE Humanoid, created by by MnCnN. May he/ she be at peace for making this awesome mod! <3

Reposting this with an edit: I'm not a modder nor the OG author and thus cannot upload an edited file :( Just know a thing or 2 about basic modding and shared the fix. PEACE!
Epyon (AnimeToxic) 21 Sep, 2022 @ 4:58pm
why cant the devs not break our mods my god :T
High Ground 21 Sep, 2022 @ 1:21pm
What ever caused the mod to break it has to do with the core game.
Frascati 21 Sep, 2022 @ 5:22am
Disabled Toxoids DLC and ran with no mods other than this one. Still happens.
Marcus Arabela 20 Sep, 2022 @ 10:58pm
So, anyone seeing this issue and not get the Toxoids DLC? Have only the Stellaris v3.5.1 free update only?
Marcus Arabela 20 Sep, 2022 @ 10:56pm
Same for me, though my Humans looked funny with no hair, LoL. Kind of looked like Deltans from the Star Trek Universe.
John McCreedy 20 Sep, 2022 @ 3:45pm
Yup, Toxoids broke the mod. As other's said, the hair's missing.
Epyon (AnimeToxic) 20 Sep, 2022 @ 2:29pm
yeah hair is missing
High Ground 20 Sep, 2022 @ 10:55am
Issue with the new update: Hair is missing.
Crazy Old Texan 7 Aug, 2022 @ 1:38pm
The new portraits are horrible. Good to see that the modding community is here to again,
fix Paradox's crap. Excellent work.
bellscycle 27 May, 2022 @ 8:11am
i think this shit broke my game
Darth Modus - God of Richards 25 May, 2022 @ 8:35pm
Deadrick - Thanks!
Deadrick  [author] 25 May, 2022 @ 11:27am
@San Felipe The clothing used in the overview is from Human variety for the old portraits and More New Human Clothes for the new ones. You can use whatever clothing mod you want though. Mods for hair I'm not sure but I guess you would find a bunch searching for hair in the workshop.
Darth Modus - God of Richards 24 May, 2022 @ 9:15pm
@Deadrick - I see, could you please provide me with a link to the mod I need with this?
Deadrick  [author] 24 May, 2022 @ 8:28pm
@San Felipe This mod is only for the portraits. You need seperate mods for clothing and hair.
Darth Modus - God of Richards 24 May, 2022 @ 7:54pm
@Deadrick - This doesn't work for some reason? I'm not even getting the different clothing and uniforms? I only have this mod enabled along with Kurogane, infinite influence and plentiful traditions, all of which should cause no conflict right?
Real Lemon 20 May, 2022 @ 8:07pm
Maybe make a separate mod that switches which portraits are the default if someone hasn't already?
Deadrick  [author] 19 May, 2022 @ 9:19pm
@SBlack You are right, that would change. Have to think about it.
SBlack 19 May, 2022 @ 12:50pm
I understand not wanting to keep two mods. But there is probably a difference in the potraits used by the pre-defined human empires depending on which version you run
Deadrick  [author] 19 May, 2022 @ 12:17pm
Fixed now. But I would recommend changing to the Remastered Human Portraits mod, link in the decription above, as it is almost identical with the exception of the order the new and old human race is at character creation. Therefore I won't be updating this one in the future, only keeping it for people that are already using it in an active game.
Deadrick  [author] 19 May, 2022 @ 10:19am
@haha! it's me! Already working on it. Have to rewrite a file, test and upload.
Nomit 19 May, 2022 @ 10:13am
In today's update they re-added the old humans, in addition to the new humans. This mod is making the optional old human race invisible in-game for me.
Deadrick  [author] 18 May, 2022 @ 2:40am
@Anglo-Saxophone @Derek I'm not great at modding hair. I had hoped someone else that is good at that stuff would make a mod for it.
Derek 17 May, 2022 @ 2:59pm
Any chance you can get rid of the weird blue gem that's on the hairline of that one female hairstyle?
Anglo-Saxophone 17 May, 2022 @ 2:25pm
If there's one thing I can't stand, it's those silly Dali moustaches everybody's now sporting, would it be possible to replace those with the old human variants?
Deadrick  [author] 17 May, 2022 @ 3:40am
Made a version with the mods for both the new and old Remastered portraits in the same one for people that want maximum variety.
Deadrick  [author] 17 May, 2022 @ 1:02am
@GreyWolf They are a different paint style. The original new human portraits look more painted and the colors are very desaturated so that they look almost black and whtie when you place them next to one of these. Not saying they are bad just that they don't combine well.

@Shadowsong Glad you like them. Adapting the old clothing mods would be a great thing but It would require quite some manual adjusting for each clothing piece.

@plasma Glad you like it. :cozybethesda:
亚空间八级大狂风 16 May, 2022 @ 11:47pm
Definitely a must-have mod! Great work!:Hire:
Alizia 16 May, 2022 @ 3:14pm
You turned the ugly repetitive new Human Portraits in a vibrant realist ones. Excellent job.

Now waiting for the clothes. I tried to adapt the SE clothes but its a very hard job.
GreyWolf 16 May, 2022 @ 12:05pm
Why replace if you can add more to the base portraits? I mean, its the same style as the new ones
Abisha 16 May, 2022 @ 7:23am
they are? that's good to hear.
Airstor 16 May, 2022 @ 2:30am
This is Great for People who like the New Portraits! not my cup of tea but Thanks for Uploading this!
Deadrick  [author] 15 May, 2022 @ 9:33pm
@Abisha You do realize that SE humans portraits are modified versions of my original mod remastered human portraits right? As for clothing and hair I leave that for people that are good at painting that stuff, that way this mod is compatible with all the clothing and hair mods that are being made for the new human portraits.
Abisha 15 May, 2022 @ 8:50pm
also gonna add cloths, they are so boring.

you might draw some inspiration of a mod called SE humans (no idea why he no longer moding)
Deadrick  [author] 15 May, 2022 @ 3:57pm
Sounds great. I don't think there are any technical mistakes. More like graphical misses where I forgot to paint highlights on a face after doing it 29 times and such. :lunar2019grinningpig:
tilarium 15 May, 2022 @ 3:52pm
Going to be adding it to my game tomorrow and see how it carries over with an existing save. If I see any problems with it I'll post and let you know.
Deadrick  [author] 15 May, 2022 @ 3:39pm
Thanks, there might be some mistakes that made it in to the final version. Been working nonstop on this for two days. Have fun with it though. :cozybethesda:
tilarium 15 May, 2022 @ 3:28pm
You, good sir, are brilliant! Thanks for getting this up, and as fast as you did.
