However, I wasn't entirely joking. You're kind of half-wrong (My opinion, I could be wrong, not meant to tear you down) when you say Aquamarine doesn't have any gold highlights. I'm referring to the sights, the trigger guard, and the bands. To me, it always looked like tarnished gold. Again, could be wrong.
The 2nd, and much stronger resemblance between the two is in the primary texture. The secondary texture has no resemblance, so it doesn't matter. They're obviously both meant to represent water, but it goes deeper than that. They're supposed to be the closeup shot of water that you might see, say, on the docks or at the beach. The wavy patterns are similar, but the Aquamarine one is more subtle, while Triton's is more distinct. The colors are close as well, but Aquamarine's is more muted, while Triton's are more saturated, but not egregiously so (unlike all the Elite grade bait on the Workshop).
aquamarine doesn't have any gold on it, nor a dark highlight color, nor have a water ripple primary. The shade of blue isn't even similar.
You know what, I don't really mind. Looks cool, it'd make a good Mercenary grade.

RIP Pluto.
No longer within its glory days.
