Thanks for the immense amount of original artwork and effort you put into this amazing mod. I agree that it's impractical to make new skins work on Type II or the proposed IX because of the large amount of original artwork. I just wanted to try and get rid if the magenta cables and gun etc that I thought is the result of the 2025 update not incorporating your artwork and defaulting to the magenta placeholder. Or is that an artifact of a low memory video card and not a compatibility issue with updates? Of course I'd pass any proposed changes I did to you for approval and credit you, I understand you're reluctant to give away copy right images that took so much work but I don't want to create a different mod, I just wanted to "assist" in getting this one current with all credit to you as original creator if you're willing to "loan" me the code etc.

I am also getting the purple textures on deck gun and jumping cables on exterior of UBOAT. Mod requires an update. My game is a fresh install using this mod.

I saw below it was reported when we switched to Full Release 2024.1 that the purple textures on deck gun and cables started. Problem still exists today (and cache & sheets were cleared). Those DXTs were probably saved in a different format. Something is whack about them.

Just here to report that I also get missing textures (purple color) on deckgun, wires and railings.

@Lepanto - I don't have UBOAT 2024.1 installed and have not tested this mod with that version of the game. All I can advise at this stage is that the mod was designed to work on the Type VIIC only, and it worked fine with 2022.1.

No idea what you mean about "fouling nets". Maybe you are trying to use this mod on a different U-boat class? This mod was only designed for the VIIC.

I've cleared the cache and get no tower, deckgun and cable renders (purple).I'm on 2024.1. Big uboat war fan so would love to get this working. Any solutions here?

Guys, how to make mod work. I don't really understand what means to clear cache and when i searched it Google offered me to clear whole Steam cache. It's not a bug so Im asking you here

@Sacrebleu - From what I understand, this mod works ok with 2024.1. I haven't tested it myself though. Hopefully, a new version will be released in future. But very unlikely to happen this year. I'm very busy with other projects.

Weather you worked with DWS, or if DWS just made their own version of the camouflages. Either way, congratulations on that vanilla integration! (See Full Release Dev log 8 for details)

@Gypsie32 - I sometimes get that issue too, especially when loading a game saved in port ( I think it's because my graphics card only has 4GB memory, and there are many textures the game needs to load in the port scene). The skin normally fully renders again after a few minutes.

Regarding the Turm II & IV towers: please read the mod description above. It says "The skins do not work on Turm II or Turm IV (yet)".

The next version will work on ALL towers. I have already included these additions in the new version, but there are other problems to fix in the new version before it can be released.

Unfortunately, I am taking a long break from working on my UBOAT mods, so the next version will not be released until later this year.

@Albert - I've never tried that interior mod, but I'm sure the two mods should work fine together as they modify textures in totally different areas of the game.

@LostBoy - one of my fellow programmer modders is going to look at scripting a proper method for hiding & showing the conning tower spotlight soon, and that will also fix the unintended side effect of the invisible interior lights in the current version.

I love your u-boat skin but without the lights it's too immersion breaking, any chance you could release a version with the light still enabled?

@coastiestevie - that sounds very odd. This mod doesn't include anything which interferes with mission requirements, as far as I'm aware.

Your PC and system specs?
Are your graphics drivers an Windows patches up to date?
ALL mods you were using?
Game status? (any missions you had recently started / finished?)
Did the selected skin finish rendering on the hull and conning tower?
When you installed the mod (before starting the career or during the career?)
Did you delete your cache & data sheets folders (in C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\LocalLow\Deep Water Studio\UBOAT) after installing the mod?

Got an error saying I could not leave port till I fulfilled mission requirements when I selected a camo. It broke my savegame and I had to start all over again. Just FYI.

@GJC - thanks for the bug report. :steamthumbsup: Another player reported this same problem a few weeks ago. It's most likely related to the method I used to hide the spotlight on the front of the conning tower. I'll need assistance from a programmer to make a better solution which only hides the spotlight (and shows it when it is being used) so that the interior light fittings are not affected. Hopefully one of the UMG programmers will help me fix this problem soon....

@Nemesis Bosseret - Turm II & IV skins (including Atlantic & Arctic skins) are pretty much complete, but I haven't had time to test them properly. All I can is that they should be ready to release in the near future.

@LUKNER/Kavlaibi(RU) - sorry for the late reply. I'm 99% sure it must be another mod or a game bug which is causing the problem you found. This mod doesn't add any programming or data modifications (it just changes textures) so I don't see how it can cause the player U-boat to become invisible to the enemy.
