Thanks to memers for the fire and smoke idea! :steamhappy:

NEW!
Fire in the engines!
PgUp-PgDn/Auxiliary (without Alt): Fire in engine one.
Alt + PgUp-PgDn/Auxiliary: Fire in engine two.
L/Headlights: Fire in engine three.
K/Hazard light: Fire in engine four.
I can't stop the engines since the plane won't fly with lopsided engines but you get a lot of smoke and some flames (as in orange smoke) for RP purposes.

I chose the Grand Slam, of course, because it was bigger, but also because the Tallboy could be dropped froma regular Lancaster with the bomb bay doors still intact but with the Grand Slam they had to remove the bomb bay doors and so there would be more of a visible difference between the two versions. IRL the top turret and sometimes even the front turret and other stuff was removed to compensate for the weight of the bomb but it's more fun to have more turrets so I kept them on. :)

Quite similar though. The Tallboy as I understand it was a bit of a compromise and the brain behind it was a lot happier with the Grand Slam which was closer to his original plans.
Tallboy still did some good work. :)

ok yeah I wasn't sure I thought the Grand slam was different but wasn't sure
Mean Green  [author] 3 Jun, 2022 @ 12:36pm
Tallboy 12,000 lb, Grand Slam 22,000 lb so a bigger weight difference than size difference.
But they look quite similar and I'm sure Grand Slam will make an impact on a ship as well. :)
You can actually sort of divebomb with the Grand Slam to improve accuracy since there are no bomb bay doors in the way and just the one bomb to drop. :D

Grand Slam was mainly used, as far as I have read, against fixed constructions like submarine pens and other very hard targets.

The Tallboy was slightly smaller than the Grand Slam. See pic in this link

Is the grand slam the same thing as the tallboy (the bomb that sunk the tirpitz)

thx

B-29 is on my list, but it's a tricky one bc of the very round nose with so much glass. It's not a big problen to make it solid, but to make it hollow so not everything has to clip through it and still look decent is a problem with the tools available in the game. I've tested a few things that didn't really work, but we'll see if I can come up with a decent solution.
memers 3 Jun, 2022 @ 5:24am
maybe the B-29
Mr.MayoMan 3 Jun, 2022 @ 3:32am
ok

I can put the C-47 on my list. I prefer to make things with guns and bombs so no promises but I'll put it on my list.
Mr.MayoMan 2 Jun, 2022 @ 11:36pm
can you make a c-47 skytrain? or a douglas dc-3?
Mean Green  [author] 2 Jun, 2022 @ 4:48pm
