hey wanna ask . i have armor 0-5 , i got 5 but if i wear the armor only get 3 why????

A bit of a weird question, but are we able to get a weapon from, say, pre-hardmode and have it roll stats that are viable for hardmode?

Been enjoying the mod alot, after adding it in multiple playthru's for groups I play with!
I wrote a simple mod for small group playthru to ""reforge"" weapons via recrafting themself + coins as an alternative to some non-renewable weapon recipes to "reroll" stats.
I did want to ask some questions regarding the mod configurability and possibility of adding some features to it and wanted to contact you but the discord link seemed to be expired :(

Thank you for the response! It seems the methods you gave work, it just seems that some server hosts just don't have an area for Mod config files that are either there or obvious. But nonethless you helped me and now i know how to configure the mods to my liking! Thanks again!

There are currently two ways/scenarios to change the config:
1) If you are running the server through Main Menu -> Multiplayer -> Host & Play:
You'd have to edit the config in the Main Menu -> Workshop -> Manage Mods -> Cog Wheel Button to the right of my mod -> change it to your desired values -> Save Config
The server will use that configuration automatically once you start it again

2) Running the Server through command line on a Dedicated Remote Server:
This is a bit tricky but once you do the steps on 1) there will be a config file generated
under "My Games/Terraria/tmodloader-your-version/ModConfigs" named "RandomStats_RandomStatsConfig.json"
editing the values inside this file and copying that file over to your dedicated server is needed to run it with custom values

I don't really like the way it's implemented right now but it would work this way.
I'll think about a better way that's within the possibilites of tmodloader.

How would someone go about editing the configuration for a multiplayer server? When i attempt to change the settings it says it failed due to the server needing to reload. Is there a command i could enter into my server console to set the default values to what i want? Or am i stuck with the default configuration for multiplayer? Love the addon either way just want to see if its possible!

I think the default is 0.75 * swordDmg up to 1.2 * sword damage
You can however freely balance it in mod configurations depending on how you want it

loving the mod, but it appears to have some bug with calamity, when I reforge an Item its stats reroll.
Just some info that may be helpful
I'm in single player
Tried with all my mods = reroll
no other mods, only this mod = works fine
all mods exept calamity = works fine
only this mod and calamity = reroll

I'm gonna keep using the mod because I love the idea
but its making tricky to make good items

Also Also, you should add in a min change value, so for example a min sharks dmg is 7 however, with your mod its max damage is 7, Shouldn't there be at least +1 over the normal value?

so Copper helm 0-2 for instince

If you make a Copper Helm and it rolls a Zero on armor, the info part is removed :p

So, uh. If you favorite an item with affected stats, the item tooltip seems to break entirely. Haven't tested if it's by itself, or because of a mod conflict, but it's definitely related to this mod specifically. Is there a spot where I could post the error I found in the log related to it?

variations are randomly generated for every item created (5 crafted zeniths are each considered unique since each of them have their own variance multiplier)
the range of variations is defined (and can be changed) inside mod configurations

the way it works is: weapon.baseDamage * randomlyGeneratedVariance
thus: as long as mods change the baseDamage it should work

Are the variations hardcoded for each item or does it *actually* depend on their base stats, so that this is compatible with mods that change them?
