This is an awesome idea, but it NEEDS custom grouping for weapons like the original Top Shelf

This has issues but it could definitely work. In addition to what others seem to be saying, I'd scrap the class icons on the gold texture.

If you really want to improve this one, consider custom mapping. It's done through "materials/models/weapons/c_models/[weapon]/p_[weapon]_groups0X]"

What's with the lizard's eye on this? Did the original top shelf skins have it?

You slapped the top shelf textures (missing 1 btw) onto the Night Owl MK.II warpaint, and it seems like you didn't bother to make changes at all.

An insult to the skin itself really. There is a balance to be maintained when making a MK.II warpaint.

Top Shelf Mk. II warpaint would only work if you did custom mapping for every weapon. The patterns are sophisticated and detailed and its really hard to make it look good if you just choose another warpaint base. The paisley pattern should be a really minor element for this warpaint. There should be more gold, and another solid color to offset the patterns.

I think this war paint looks fine. Yes the paisley and marble texture aren't spot on for some weapons but there are some limitations to the war paint system. With that mind this looks really nice. Not on the same level as the OG Top Shelf Skins, which I am all for to keep their value, but It's still pretty good.

I feel like there's way too much of the marble texture, with none of the grey to balance it out, that and the paisley is I really weird spots of the weapon that just look off.

I tried swapping the textures if top shelf onto night owl mk.ii myself and it it's base form it just looked weird. Something like this isn't gonna look right without some MAJOR adjustments to the weapon groupings, swapping textures alone isn't going go guarantee a perfect end product.

I think this one's a dud, but if you can look into custom weapon groupings to adjust the texture placements that would be sweet.

That and maybe try making the textures yourself instead of reusing valve's but you do you. :lunar2019piginablanket:

it still looks goofy

Salut Zesty. Unless a paint perfectly translates into warpaint form, I do not "rip from the game" and then slap it on a base. I tried to make that clear from the description. I do what is necessary to make it look good where I can do so. That is my approach.

That's why my Red Roscoe Mk.II (Arvo Boomstick) had so many edits but this one only had touchups on the base and scaling.

"It's only passable because it looks good" :^).

The marble scaling doesn't look too blown IMO, especially when I was comparing them to reference images. I'll see what I can do about the paisley texture. Though it will probably make it too busy for my liking.

This looks...off. These textures do not translate well onto multiple weapon models. The scaling on the paisley looks off. The marble gets scaled up so much that it looks solid black in places. The problem is that no transformative work or adjustments were made to the original textures to make them fit the warpaint system. They were ripped from the game and slapped onto a base, which isn't how these Mk II warpaints should be approached, especially for those that look poor out-of the-gate for a warpaint.

It's only visually passable because the original textures are so good, that they carry everything else wrong with this submission into acceptable territory. It need work.

hate to say it but the class symbols crowd the paint, i love the design and the war paint itself is top tier

if this makes it in, hopefully it ends up being a contract skin rather than being part of a war paint case
would love to see the gentlemanne's collection make a comeback soon in this form
