The only reason the mod can launch the .exe is because it's in the same folder as tModLoader.
Saying that it's a security flaw is like saying that the fact Steam can launch .exes is a major security flaw. Any program can do that given the right instructions, it's just that the mod doesn't have the ability to search your entire PC for .exe files.

So don't listen to the people down below raving on how mods can launch "random .exe files" as Yalkin puts it. It doesn't work like that.

Fun fact:You can actually have this mod launch any program you want, just make sure the folder and exe are both named "METAL GEAR RISING REVENGEANCE"

now we just need a mod that launches terraria when you get hit in mgr so you can do
