It has two devs, and me who's more a support/writer/GFX dev. The lead dev is also currently missing due to serious personal issues.

Each time I give a date, we get striked by some random sh*t delaying the whole thing again (PDX patches, weird errors happening, etc) so I will just answer the following: all the needed arts are now done (except some event pictures but whatever), the French focus tree is like 80% coded and we face a map error we must fix because it causes a crash to desktop when you start a 1936 game.

There is only two devs, both students and early summer is always a time of exams so it doesn't help at all.

How close is the update to being finished?

I agree - the flag/name changing mechanic was a very big part of the map painting aspect of the original mod. It would be a terrible shame to lose it!

I don't wanna be that guy, but why exactly is it that you distance yourselves from the flag changing mechanic of the original mod? For me and many others it brought a ton of sandboxy flavour where you could evolve your nation together with how easy it was to switch ideologies back in the original version of the mod.
I get that you'd like to focus on overhauling nations and giving them actual, well developed and interesting focus trees and then work tag-changing off of that, but at least for nations without much flavour and/or in need of a rework (like the German tags) this would be a neat way to at least allow the player some agency in what they want their country to look like.
Recently I've finished a Teutonic monarchist game and was deeply disappointed with how my country stayed as the Teutonic State for the entire duration of the playthrough, even despite having the actual legitimate OG Kaiser on the throne.

@Chudwig generic and "common" focus trees will be reworked, but no, major nations will now have their own focus trees. Poland now, France around the end of the year, and many others coming later.

One thing I always liked about this mod was the focus trees, despite being virtually the same across every nation bar a handful of unique ones, they allowed you to add "diversity" to your country even if it wasn't to a major extent. I hope it's kept as the "new" generic focus tree or something in the future when you eventually make more in-depth ones.

@General Douglas MacArthur as explained on Discord and here, the next update will bring an overhaul dedicated to France, including focus tree, graphics, decisions, designers and MIOs, lore events and stuff.

Hopefully we will release all of this at the end of December.

Once it's done, the lead developer is thinking about a solution to update the mod more regularly to finally fix the compatibility issues related to PDX patches.

Is there any new content added or is the Focus still only on Poland for no reasons. like I was in the Discord the Devs care only about Poland cuz their Polish

I kind of agree with you and I would prefer to see its territories owned by FKA.

But some wanted to keep Louisiana as it's part of the original mod.

Why is Louisiana not owned by America? It doesn't make sense that the US would willingly give back Louisiana to Napoleonic France or any other foreign regime
