Woohoo NASCAR body

nice. a small hatchback body similar to a audi a1 or mini cooper would be great and a mid engined 718 cayman/boxster body.

Ok thanks

@cjthecar42 this mod is made for the open beta, you can access it by going in the automation's properties on steam, clicking betas and choosing open beta

@MCzenman Just fixed it, tested it in BNG and everything looks fine, the Nodes are very messy, but i can't really fix that, enjoy!
MCzenman 16 Jun, 2022 @ 4:50pm
Anytime!

@MCzenman ok, i will test it for myself then, thanks for the report

Ye, just to make sure, I cloned my car (which was set to the BeamNG Road body) and deleted all the fixtures to ensure it wasn't a fixture issue. Sure enough, on export to BNG, the cloned Beam version sans fixtures was still up off the ground at the exact same height as the non-Beam version

@MCzenman Really? i am in a kind of a rush, so i can't really test it, is the car too low? i still left it with a bit of a lip, try exporting with the two variants and test if the new one has the nodes in the same height
MCzenman 16 Jun, 2022 @ 4:24pm
Hmm, bad news - unfortunately still having the same issue even with the BeamNG bodies
MCzenman 16 Jun, 2022 @ 3:56pm
Thank ya!

@MCzenman Body should be fixed now, enjoy your Beamng time!
Swartkin  [author] 16 Jun, 2022 @ 2:18pm
@MCzenman that's a known problem, i know how to fix it, but it would limit what you can do to the body A LOT, i'll make a variant with a fix when i have time, thanks!
MCzenman 16 Jun, 2022 @ 1:35pm
Beam exporting doesn't work. Car sits up off the ground thanks to nodes a4 through a31 being too low

@grobbot, from analyzing further, the nascar body does indeed have the rear arch lower than the front
Swartkin  [author] 15 Jun, 2022 @ 1:44am
@Grobbot hmm, I didn't know that, well, the fenders aren't 100% equal to the references and that's by design, the car in the blueprints were a bit leaned forwards and I thought this was way too specific, I wanted this body to also be able to create cool street cars and not just NASCAR, I'm not a fan of replica bodies as you can see lmao, thanks anyways, I'll see what I can do, maybe a body variant will be a nice choice
Grobbot 15 Jun, 2022 @ 12:00am
The front fender is a bit lower to the wheel than the rear for me. Usually that is reversed in real life cars so that they have a front "lean". when the gaps are the same front and back but to achieve that with this the front wheels have to be tiny or the body leaned back a bit. :)

Is it possible to make the car bodies from Pixar's Cars?
