City state diplo screens break when used with community patch, is there a way for me to fix this
Lucius, the Heavenly Dragon 6 Jun, 2019 @ 5:32am
Would this be compatible with CS Evolved?
Sneaky Markus Kruber 25 Jun, 2018 @ 6:09pm
@Nutzzz: Hey, a great mod! :D Is there a step-by-step tutorial how to add own custom city states with leader icons (xml)? I downloaded the IconTemplate. Thank you!
Chairman Meow 17 Jan, 2018 @ 9:15am
@mert1096 Yeah, pick Venice as your civ.
Mert1096 13 Oct, 2015 @ 12:54pm
Can i play as Citystate ?
XxSIXxX 21 Sep, 2015 @ 10:18am
How can I Fixed bug with Workshop extraction failing on a zero-size file ?
I have bug with texture,crash...
Ren Market 4 May, 2015 @ 12:29am
How up to date is this? Since the last update is nearing a year old, I'm wondering how compatible this will be at current time?
grmagne 5 Apr, 2015 @ 2:21pm
Is this mod incompatible with the City-State Diplomacy mod by Gazebo? I've tried to run both in the same game but I no longer get the CS leader pictures. If they're no compatible, that's quite unfortunate, as I really like both of these mods a lot.
Nutzzz  [author] 21 Feb, 2015 @ 4:10pm
Oops. I didn't realize I never got around to uploading the update to fix the crash caused by a zero-size file! Done.
trvdeav 16 Feb, 2015 @ 7:19pm
Mackenzie King and John A Macdonald are unrealistic. Samuel Champlain should be Quebec.
Zan 17 Jan, 2015 @ 5:55pm
this mod does not appear in my list... i dont know what to do to make it work, any ideas?
Ambermonk 18 Dec, 2014 @ 9:07pm
After the latest Civ 5 update, every time I try to install this mod, the game crashes horribly. It even crashed when I tried to subscribe from my internet browser. Is there a fix for this? This is one of my favorite mods!
UncivilizedGuy 30 Nov, 2014 @ 11:04am
This is definitely one of the best mods out there!
mim1983 4 Nov, 2014 @ 4:37pm
I'm having the same problem as Kam - "unable to load texture", red background behind heads, but in my situation deleting all files and caches did not work. I'm doing ok with "full compatible" version downloaded from civ forum, but there is no art pack for this version as I understand...
Any idead what may cause this crash?
pprtrl 11 Oct, 2014 @ 9:11am
@comrade93
I'm with you here. John A. MacDonald is a pretty dumb choice.
Pastek 26 Sep, 2014 @ 1:29pm
John A. MacDonald for Quebec city-state is truly inaccurate. The first reason is that Quebec is a french speaking state... And even our leaders are french canadian or mostly know here as « quebecers ». The second reason is that John A. Macdonald was an english prime minister of the Dominion of Canada, a british man who has nothing to do with the city or the province of Quebec.
As a french quebecer, I can tell you that you choose a very bad leaders for Quebec city.

You may use some people like:
1- Jean Talon (Intendant of Quebec city and the New-France colony, I recommend this one in a historical point of view, to be accurate with the game's city-state identity (maritim) and because this guy is the first who has make Quebec city really distinct and autonomous from France metropol - or even tried to make it this way)
2- Samuel de Champlain (foundator of Quebec city)
Nutzzz  [author] 8 Sep, 2014 @ 3:35pm
Hitlifter: This has been brought up a few times below. Make a new icon and I'll use it.
Tony The Tiger 7 Sep, 2014 @ 11:27am
John A. MacDonald for Quebec city? Are you kidding?
Derek 26 Aug, 2014 @ 2:47pm
Yes, please, that would be wonderful.
Nutzzz  [author] 24 Aug, 2014 @ 12:55pm
@Zomg: Thanks! I am familiar with Iceco's mod, and have thought about all the information I wanted to include. Both of the choices you mention were purposefully made to make the most of screen real estate and prevent user confusion.

It would be a trivial matter to flip the display of the country/region in the top bar with the all-caps city state name (note I've also included the modern countries in the database entries, which could be used instead of the historical one). I'd be happy to send you an alternative Lua file for your personal copy of the mod if you like.
Nutzzz  [author] 24 Aug, 2014 @ 12:41pm
@Charlie: See my reply to @Kam below.
MalcorScribe 21 Aug, 2014 @ 5:38pm
I'm encountering a problem with the activaton of this mod.
I have subscribed to it, but it is not showing up in my mod menu...

Has anyone else had this problem? Any solutions?
Derek 21 Aug, 2014 @ 5:15am
This is an excellent mod, and I absolutely love it.

If you're looking for ways to improve/expand this mod, here was one for vanilla that did something similar which can be found here [forums.civfanatics.com] and a screenshot here [i239.photobucket.com]. I recommend taking a look. It adds both leaders and flags, and puts the country name front and center, something which you might be interested in doing here.

Like I said, you mad a really awesome mod, and did an excellent job doing so. City-states are really bland in-game, and I'm glad that people out there want to improve them. Thanks for all your hard work!
Nutzzz  [author] 20 Aug, 2014 @ 9:47am
@Craig: No. Note that the CS Mods Art Pack adds leaders for some new CS mods[/url]. Additionally, CSL2 support is built in to Fictional City States - Comedy Movies (which was designed as a template for modders who want to include their own art for CSL2).
goldenfiberwheat238 19 Aug, 2014 @ 6:22pm
so does this add new city states?
Nutzzz  [author] 11 Aug, 2014 @ 11:15am
@Auxilae: I'm sorry that you had a frustrating hour, but realize that I and a group of artists have put many more into the making of this mod for free. Most people don't have the problem you're experiencing, and because of where it occurs (before the mod is even activated), I don't have any logs to inspect. I've pushed a new version with no substantive changes to see if there was some kind of corruption in the original .civ5mod file I uploaded.

You can also download it from here [forums.civfanatics.com] and install it manually to your mods folder, which avoids the download/extraction/copy process where the issue occurs. However, I would appreciate it if you would first try it from Steam again, and let me know whether the issue reoccurs.
Kam vom Winde 5 Aug, 2014 @ 12:52pm
with your suggestion, the strange red background was solved, it helped. thank you, for the fast answer.
Nutzzz  [author] 5 Aug, 2014 @ 11:02am
@Kam: That's an odd one.

First unsubscribe to any other versions of CSL, then delete them from the Mods folder. Finally, delete your Cache and ModUserData folders. (Note that all 3 folders can be found in C:\%username%\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\ )

Also note you'll have to re-enable all of your mods after doing this, so if you have a lot of active mods, make a list first.
Kam vom Winde 5 Aug, 2014 @ 10:13am
thank you all for this great mod. i keep getting an unable to load texture message, followed up be a red background behind the heads. disabled all other mods, but no change. any suggestions why this happens? would be very thankful for help.
Nutzzz  [author] 3 Aug, 2014 @ 8:23pm
@Lion: Well, you can read it, anyway. Send me a message on Steam if you have any ideas.
lichen 3 Aug, 2014 @ 11:22am
@Nutzzz: I've tried to join that site many times before. It's unbearably confusing with the signup, particularly email confirmation. I've tried even creating a new email account and it still says it's taken!!! Stupid site!
Nutzzz  [author] 2 Aug, 2014 @ 6:55pm
@Lion: Finding leaders, and more importantly art, for some of the obscure city states in each scenario--and in the scenario's timeframe --isn't easy. If you'd like to help, there's a list of all of the city states for Firaxis scenarios under the spoiler for "PROPOSED FIRAXIS SCENARIO SUPPORT" in this thread [forums.civfanatics.com].
lichen 2 Aug, 2014 @ 2:40pm
What about scenario city-states?
Totenliste 20 Jul, 2014 @ 1:44pm
I see that I am having the issue as some other users trying to subscribe and the game crashes out...I'll try the manual download link. :)
Nutzzz  [author] 15 Jul, 2014 @ 3:29pm
Thadian: Good thought, but this version should prevent you from activating it if the old version of CSL is still active.
Sol 15 Jul, 2014 @ 11:38am
I thought about it and some of your users "might" be trying to use this WITH the City States Leaders mod. You might want to update description.

Great stuff!!
egg fu 12 Jul, 2014 @ 1:47am
@Nutzzz It's ok i finally got it to work with the manual download, thx for everything :)
Nutzzz  [author] 11 Jul, 2014 @ 1:13pm
@Niceres: Even with Google Translate, I'm not sure what you're trying to say. Yes, for those that don't have BNW (where Warsaw was removed), the icon for Warsaw is a version of the Poland leader icon. It is similar with the other city states removed for G+K and BNW: Jakarta, Lisbon, Marrakech, Rio de Janeiro, Stockholm, Venice, and Vienna [you'll notice the icon credit is attributed to Firaxis].
Milujete Lucy? 11 Jul, 2014 @ 12:59pm
Хорошо сделанно, но уже есть VARSHAVA:D
Nutzzz  [author] 11 Jul, 2014 @ 10:32am
@Chimp or @Chris:
Could you enable logging [forums.civfanatics.com] then post your database.log and lua.log to a new post in this thread [forums.civfanatics.com]?
chrismoran2005 11 Jul, 2014 @ 8:28am
yea it crashes my game too
egg fu 10 Jul, 2014 @ 7:36pm
Thanks for the Link.
Nutzzz  [author] 10 Jul, 2014 @ 7:18pm
@Chimp: Are you saying that if you unsubscribe, you no longer get crashes? Or that you're no longer able to use the Mods menu now, regardless? Could you be out of free space or something?

If unsubscribing works, then you could always forgo the Workshop and manually download and install it from CivFanatics [forums.civfanatics.com].
Nutzzz  [author] 10 Jul, 2014 @ 7:14pm
@broccoli7040: It works for any version of CiV (see the description).
egg fu 10 Jul, 2014 @ 1:23pm
It still doesent work, the game crashes everytime i reach the Mods Menu.
broccoli7040 10 Jul, 2014 @ 6:55am
does this work without god and kings?:csgob:
Nutzzz  [author] 9 Jul, 2014 @ 6:47am
@Chimp: Yes, try deleting your cache and ModUserData as well.
egg fu 9 Jul, 2014 @ 2:28am
Everytime when i try to download (Subscribe) to the mod and it tries to install, my game crashes, every single time. This never happened to me with another mod. Do i try clearing my cache too? Or is there another fix?
Nutzzz  [author] 8 Jul, 2014 @ 8:20pm
@ShadowEagle59: Try clearing your cache. See this this thread [forums.civfanatics.com] for instructions and general mod troubleshooting tips.
