I love this map, but I wish it was about 15-20% larger. Everything starts to come to a standstill in the mid-late game.

It looks like a basic map , but the 5 stars and MonolithicBacon & DonXavi was enough for me to sub to try it .

@monolithicBacon, i thought a nice idea mod for kursk would be:
- the players can build only tanks, no infantry whatsoever;
-there is only one repair point, that the 2 teams must fight for ( as the players dont have infantery,
it will be the only way to repair their tanks;
-there is AI for both sides that can build only infantry that doesnt harm tanks, they will be the ones that cap points and you would have to support them. OR some of the players tank only and the others infantry only... engineers cant repair*

A fatal scar error means that whoever made the other version of Kursk has fouled up their SCAR code, and it's causing the game to encounter an error. It can be fixed, but honestly, having anything over 500 pop is asking for trouble anyway, especially if played on lower-end PC's.

As for weather, I could create other weather types, but as Relic haven't released weather settings "a la Opposing Fronts", I would have to release an entirely new version of the map.

i sorta wish it was very playable ( smooth/ no glitches/ pop decreased to like 300-400 with resource increase) and stromy weather meaning it looks real and shiny textures caused by the rain (if you have scene this before) is what friends, comments on the item itself, and I suggest

my bad its 2000 but resource production is very slow also when the map is being played/ started it freezes so you have to pres esc twice and when ai or people call in barrage it freezes game and says fatal error

@hoogiewoogie1, I can make changes if there is a reason to, but can you justify any to me? And there are a few Kursk maps, but I'm afraid you'll never see any of mine go near 20,000 population. There's a big difference between breaking the balance and destroying it.

so since you re-release maps, although this map is only 4 stars, theres a kursk map called Battle of Kursk (20000) pop, and lets say you re-release it, do you add anything like better weather or just same map if you kniow what i mean?

@hoogiewoogie1, My apologies, but I only re-release maps with higher pop-cap if they are popular enough (5 stars), simply because I have very limited workshop space left, and still intend to release many new maps.

However, if we get some more ratings, you never know, this might hit 5 stars in a few weeks. Tell your friends!

@OmegaLance, I'm sorry, but this is designed to be a balanced map, and 2 fuel points are the maximum. They are placed so close to the HQ's to ensure a larger use of vehicles than munition-based abilities, but this version's layout has to stay the same!

@MonolithicBacon I have to say this is a great map! However, it being Kursk and all, there is simply not enough fuel to train a lot of tanks. In fact, I see many times players (AI included) only have 2-3 tanks each do to the lack of fuel and pop cap. The AI especially just spams inf all game long. PLEASE FIX THIS/DO SOMETHING :D It's just that I want to have these big tank battles.

In Generaly i give you right Bacon , but there is a big different between hhigher pop cap or Higher pop cap with workpower -cheat-fast incomming ( some makers put on there maps ) !!! I make all my Maps with higher pop cap because your incommming will be lower with every new unit you build , so its very hard to get many heavy Tanks out ( if not impossible ). But I respect what you sayd, because its your Map and in my Eyes its not a must ( higher pop cap ). I like the Map also with 100 cap :) Dont worry anyway....gg

@GuNs, I've explained to many a person why I don't have higher pop-cap maps, but I can do so again.

Every Workshop has a limited amount of upload space, and because I release so many maps, I can't afford to release two versions of each map. That being said, raising the pop-cap ruins the balance of any map (imagine 5 King Tigers, while the US have no heavy tanks), so I would always prefer to release a fair, balanced, normal pop-cap map. If any of my maps hit 5 stars, however, and are popular enough, I will release a second version on principle.

How do you set up a 250 pop cap game??? Did they add it in the custom game options? That sounds fantastic. And a 125% resource buff? That's awesome, too, rather than just Normal and High resources.

This Would be an excellent Map for a 250 pop cap with 1.25x income rate. Its Kursk and demands huge vehicular warfare. :)

@Majestic, you've stumbled onto an easy problem to fix!

In WorldBuilder, click on the Scenario tab, move down to "Teams" and it will open a new window. You will basically have a list of numbers from 1000 to 1007 - assume that these are players. If you have an 8 player map, ensure that 1000, 1001, 1002 and 1003 are all under the "1" category. Put all the others under the "2" category!

hi, bit off topic, but seeing as u seem to be one of the top map makers, i was wondering if you could quickly help with a problem i have in Worldbuilder, i have googled 100 variations of my problem with no success, its as if i'm the only one suffering from it :( anyhoo the problem i have is i have made a 4v4 map, setup starting positions, territories, map entry points etc etc, however when i start a game lobby, it shows the teams correctly, 4 on 1 side and 4 on the other, when the game starts there are 2 on 1 side of the map and 2 on the other, its all mixed up, yet the map pic shows 1,2,3,4 on 1 side and 5,6,7,8 on the other? i dont know what to do :(

You've earned it. Your maps play like the ones from Relic. A lot of maps from the community are, despite the author's best intentions, often buggy and broken and silly. There are a handful of maps, for example, which have pathways which were not carefully measured. Imagine two piles of rubble spaced out by tank treads (giving us the impression vehicles can go through), only to later find out its roughly four molecules too small for anything but a kubelwagon or a jeep. With your maps, there's much more confidence we're in for something good. Keep it up.

Just to give you an idea of how much my friends and I love your work, we've just started asking "Is this custom map a 'MonolithBacon' map?" When the answer is anything other than "yep", we all kinda... just... go back to the map selection menu.

@VIPUKS, I'll have a look at the map soon to check the distances of these objects. You're right about the AT gun being a problem, but having wrecked vehicles is a large staple of this map. So long as they are the same distance apart from each team, they're not a balance issue. If you're playing against the OKW, you should always plan to exploit wrecked vehicles. After all, OKW are a fuel-starved race, and need something in each map to benefit them.

Cause of salvage you can get flak haltrack in 3 minute mark, I don't thing this is fair. Don't forget that okw can salvage not only vehicles but and destroyed anti tank weapon
