Thank you for this mod! Have been looking for something like this for awhile, didnt think it was possible to remove the ugly low poly models from appearing but glad I was wrong.

And keep in mind i do all this for free. I use this mod myself everyday and i just wanted to share it with the community

Bad mod. Why do you change the scale of units? Lzd Cold ones are all bugged out. Messes with mods that uses the variant tables, which is almost every mod.

if reskins add new unit models into the game, the lod will not be removed on these units, but should still be removed on vanilla units

Im assuming this mod and any other like it will not work with reskins without patches? The other two mods like this dont realy say anything about being incompatible with anything - and one even says that it should work with everything... Im assuming thats an outright misleading fib?
Sucks alot as I use a ton of different reskins.

I verified the installed files and run many mods, but the CTD occured with only 7 mods active of which all others would not really be used during skirmishes. I thought the LOD remover could cause a crash due to some models in the background wanting to change their details when jumping out from unit camera, but does that even make sense?
Maybe it is not even a mod, but the main game. Every patch it seems there are more problems introduced than old ones being fixed. When I encounter a situation which gives more insightful Information, whether it points out your mod as a factor or dispproves this assumption, I'll drop a short comment.
Used your mod for years, never had issues. It was just an idea that made more sense than other ones on first sight. Your mod is mandatory like a baseline feature the game should have had when it was released. Cannot understand how they could release it without LOD settings or why your mod is not more popular than it already is. Thanks for your time,mate!

Are you using other mods ?
I suggest you run a file check on the game and see if it fixes your issue (right click on the game in your library -> Properties-> Installed Files -> Verify integrity of game files)

Just want to be clear:
I used this mod for years and the problem only began sporadically in the last days during unit testing and while using Unit Camera on Jezzails, but maybe that is just coincidence.

With this mod the models do no longer look like tiny squeamish pellets of poo, so I'm not sure Nurgle is fine with that. Nevertheless I cannot play the game without this mod, dude.
Thanks for trying to compensate for CA's poor job of polishing the game. Don't let it die!

ps. I encountered some CTD in last days during skirmishes, when using the Unit Camera. It always froze when pressed it again in order to zoom out into normal view. Do you believe your mod could have something to do with that?

Yeah I tried to have a go at it couple of months ago but to no avail.. hopefully CA will give is the option to toggle them someday. Not that I think they will do it, but one can only hope.

Hello! I wanted to thank you for your great work, I have a question, I use your two mods, Battle lod removed and extreme lod, but when I use a Resized Hero "Housie Resize Lords, Heroes and Kislev Edition" some units start functioning badly again (Bear Riders, Chaos Knights, Matado, etc.) My question is, is the fault due to your mod or the aforementioned resized mod? @Mad would be great if you could find a way to remove these frozen animations !
In warhammer 2 i just went to db/battle_entities_tables and i changed the column named something like "anim lod" (it's one of the last column)
It is working like a multiplier for the distance at which units will use their frozen animation
It was working fine in wharammer 2, but in wharammer 3 the column still exists but it seems like it has no effect at all

I saw you mentioned a while back that you had a way of fixing the "frozen idle animation at a distance" in wh2, and that method didn't work for wh3.

I'd really appreciate if you can help me start my search in the files in order to try and fix it.

I find it jarring that idle animations are static after a certain distance, and I believe those of us with powerful computers deserve to have the option to toggle them on.

but it has been years since I dabbled in editing CA's files so any guidance will be much appreciated.

You can try my extreme lod remover that is working like the lod remover from hooveric but with higher values

Any idea if this is compatible with True Unit Size mod? Ive been testing it out myself and it seems the lod has been reduced when using both but I cant tell. Possibly because the unit sizes are increased larger than the max distance setting for this mod?

no it will not increase performance drop (it could even decrease it in certain scenarios), but it will decrease overall performance a bit of course
