it'd be amazing if your learning limited how many pages you had, it'd add some great flavor for roleplay. (maybe a gamerule or just a decision to enable and disable)

I'd be perfectly happy to release Courtship as a module - I've already split it off in modular form to share with other TCs - but I'm probably too lazy to keep it maintained if PDX decides to expand in that direction, which they probably will get around to eventually.

I've set the max size to 4096 characters. If you've got a limit of 500 then you've got an incompatibility (If I had to guess, it's probably Fullscreen Barbershop, which uses 500)

Editing Old Books is similarly restricted because it's inherently stored *in* the author, and another character's edit-event literally couldn't change that character's LocalizedText even if I allowed the editing event for that book.

Reforging books to be court artifacts I could probably do, but the issue here is that I have no ideas for how to represent it visually - I'm not a 3D artist.

It is woefully impractical to allow multiple books per character, because the only type of scope that can store LocalizedText is a Character, meaning I need to write out the direct access keys for each bit of text *and* write gui logic figure out which keys to access after the character has died.

It'd basically require duplicating 90% of the mod's code for each book written by a given character.

EDIT: Didn't finish my thought RE Editing Multiple Books. While it's theoretically possible in the mod's current version, it's impractical since currently you can only write one book per generation.

@Tobbzn, I double checked and you're exactly right -- text was hanging off the page in the edit event, but the scroll bar is visible in the book widget. So all is well!

A few last ideas (sorry to pester, but your mod has really enriched my gameplay, I love it):

EDIT OLD BOOKS: You probably had great reasons for leaving this one out, but I thought I'd ask just in case.

EDIT MULTIPLE BOOKS: I'd love to be able to write chronicles of the various noble families in my the realm and gift the chronicles to each head of house.

RE-FORGE OLD BOOKS INTO COURT ARTIFACTS: It would be nice to have the books displayed in court and be able to click the artifact and read the book inside the courtroom. I'm not sure how possible it is modding-wise.

Fixed the missing scrollbar in the editing event's preview display. Nothing should've changed in the non-editing booklet view.

That sounds very weird - there *should* be a scroll bar! In my testing, there *is* a scroll bar!

I have no idea why it wouldn't work on your end. How many symbols are your pages? I think I capped it at 4096 so I'm guessing your issues are some time before then :P

One other idea: SCROLL BARS.

I took "write a book" too much to heart. My novels are loooonnnnggg and words are hanging off the page.

Any chance of a scroll bar?

Unfortunately, the illegal characters are hardcoded. This is because the system was designed by Paradox specifically to name characters or pets, and they don't want newlines in those names. (As far as the hardcoded systems are concerned, each book is actually just a collection of 20 pet names)

The system for pre-scripted books produced by modders *can* have spaces in them, but those would be static and not editable during runtime.

In the current version of the mod, paragraph breaks cause a "name contains illegal characters" error.
