What do you mean update?

Hey there. Happy to hear from you so soon.

So that final cut scene was mostly your original work? It was still amazing either way. In any case, I'm happy to hear what bits of feedback and encouragement I gave you helped you out. Maybe I'll give your latest mission a try before I move on to my replay of Tiberian Sun.

Until next time, have a good one. Laters.

Oh yes, I played that mission and you're right, it does have a pretty similar feel to it. The Side Ops mission are amazing, and I am very impressed by GotAPresentForYa's mission making skills!

Scorpion Hunters was my first foray into making a scripted mission in any C&C game. Renegade is occasionally forgotten among the other games, but it definitely had its moments!
If you're interested I made a new mission for Red Alert called Paradox Equation 2: Paradox Harder, an unofficial sequel to the classic mission from Counterstrike. But I have to warn you, it's completely unhinged!

Thanks for stopping by sharing your thoughts! Love to hear it :)

Hey bud, nice to see you again! Glad to see you enjoyed the rest of the missions!

Yes I'm quite happy with how the final cutscene turned out! It was mostly just me, except of course for whoever made the stock footage and the model of the scorpion.

For whenever you happen to revisit the campagin; like in mission 5 there is also a secret puzzle in the final mission which might give you something special ;)

I am really grateful for all the constructive and positive feedback during this project so I just wanted to show my appreciation to you and everyone else who was supportive of it :) Every bit counts, and every comment is a boost of inspiration! Outside feedback is especially helpful when you work solo, since it's pretty hard to put your mind to what it's like playing your missions without knowing all the ins and outs. Gotta find that middle-ground when it comes to difficulty.

Part 4 of 4 (Sorry for all the spam)

P.S. Your "The Scorpion Hunters" mission for Tiberian Dawn was also very enjoyable. Always liked retreading old ground from a different perspective.

P.P.S. I like to consider the "Side Ops Allies Epilogue: Real Tough Guys," of the C&C Red Alert - Side Ops series (awesome missions too) by GotAPresentForYa to take place after Crimson Dusk. One last cat's paw that Kane uses to further lull his enemies into a false sense of security. Thinking they've finally stopped their desperate last attack and with their enemies dying gasp, achieving final victory over their foes, only to be none the wiser about their true foe and much larger forces at work.

Part 3 of 4

That final cut-scene though. My god, that was f*cking awesome. You, along with everyone else who may have worked on that, did an amazing job. Imagine my surprise though when I saw my username in the special thanks credits at the end. Let me just say that I'm extremely honored and humbled that my username was added, though I'm not sure what I did to deserve that. Aside from maybe pointing a few technical issues here and there, along with maybe some compliments and words of encouragement, my involvement was very little. Still grateful however that my username is attached to such an amazing mod/campaign.

That's about all I wanted to say. Thank you and everyone else who made this whole thing possible. I'll definitely play this again some time.

Untill then, have a good one. Laters.

Part 2 of 4

That last mission was the best though. I had to re-watch the little in-game "cutscene" a few times before continuing. First time, I wasn't really paying attention. Second time, I was still confused to what was going on. Third time, I finally saw and understood what happened. I thought it was quite poetic. Like with all other missions that do so, It was awesome to see familiar campaign maps from a fresh perspective, a real nostalgia trip.

First off, How have you been? It's been quite a while since I've talked to you. After finally getting my computer working right again, I've been replaying all of my Command & Conquer games. The last time I did a full playthrough to this fan campaign was after Mission #11. Dang, this came such a long way since then.

Mission 12 was pretty cool, forcing you to pick between one or the other. Both 13's were both great in there own way, I liked Sentinel better if only because of the airbase access. The last two "Nod" missions were wonderful as well. I could definitely see Kane wanting to nip such potential problems in the bud.

Haha, sounds interesting, although I'm not sure it would be that much of a difference since the UN faction in this mod doesn't really differ from the Allies/Proto GDI faction in the ant campaign :P
Granzeboma 28 Jan, 2024 @ 1:01pm
Hey, guess what? I had quite the idea.
You could make a redux of It Came from Red Alert, but with the yellow Allies replaced by GDI/BO7.
Even just the same mission with your faction in would be a great step up.

@Zaptagious
Hey, thanks for the heads up. And I believe I will~
Zaptagious  [author] 24 Jan, 2024 @ 2:25am
Hey! Hope you will like it! I'm actually in the process of re-balancing some of the missions these past couple of days. I should be done with all of them in a few days time.

Just so you know, this particular workshop item is just the graphical mod, the missions will have to be downloaded separately from within the game itself, which can be a bit finnicky. Plus they don't always update immediately when changes has been made to them, since they are mirrored on an EA server.
Granzeboma 24 Jan, 2024 @ 2:09am
I was psyched to find this mod in Workshop. Saves me the trouble of setting it up from a ModDB download...
With this bad boy, my RA1 playthrough has just been doubled and the plot interests me greatly too.
Let's be real here, Kane is a serious step up from Stalin...

If you're wondering why the From the Ashes missions are not showing up after enabling the mod, you need to go to the Mission Select section and Custom Missions tab (the last one) and manually search for and download the maps.

This mod might be suitable for the Interbellum of Tiberian Dawn which takes place after the Soviet ending.
Reilsss 7 Aug, 2022 @ 2:15pm
Well you helped me making this mod. I was searching the file with the menu and icon graphics. I parsed the file (where it was inside) like 4 times but never saw it. Then i downloaded your mod and saw what the file name was... only then I could find it. So thank you back. And I'm glad I could help you out. I rember you asked for help in the discord and nobody really could point you somewhere.
Zaptagious  [author] 7 Aug, 2022 @ 12:45pm
@Reilsss Thank you so much, I got it to work! I owe you one, man!
Reilsss 5 Aug, 2022 @ 9:53am
I try to be short,
In photoshop -> Select -> Load Selection... -> Choose Alpha1 and OK
May make from this selection a copy to a new layer, now you have the graphics with transparency where the alphas where. Do what you do with the graphics.

For backwards
Layer -> Layer Mask -> From Transaprency.
Next to the layer appears a mask.
May Delete Alpha1 from Channels.
The Double Click on the mask to select its tranparancy on the image.
Select -> Save Selection... -> Name it Alpha1
Save as Copy -> TGA -> I chosoe 32 bit colors.

After that you should have the new tga with a alpha channel created based on your transparency.

I hope I did not forget something. But the magic lays in loading and saving the selection. And the making a mask of the transparency.
Zaptagious  [author] 4 Aug, 2022 @ 3:08pm
@Reilsss Yes I did :) There seemed to be some graphics for alpha channels to adjust the transparency in the same file which the actual logo graphics are in. I toyed around with them but it didn't seem to affect anything at all. How did you accomplish it?

And yes I do use Photoshop :)
Reilsss 4 Aug, 2022 @ 12:04pm
Hello Taptagious.
Did you not ask in the C&C Discord server about the transparency issue you have with the faction logos?

I downloaded your mod to understand what file it is that holds this graphics, thanks to your mod I found it. And then I tryed to replace the logos. After thinking around in photoshop I figured a way to get the transparency done right.

I don't know if you use photoshop for your graphic editing, but I wont mind sharing my knowledge with you if you want to.
Kind regards and thank you in return.
Zaptagious  [author] 19 Jun, 2022 @ 11:35am
@Volkov, yes it works on any mission, including those that are not of this campaign, so it's best to de-activate this mod when you're playing something else.
Volkov 19 Jun, 2022 @ 11:21am
Zaptagious dose it work on any mission
