It should work in multiplayer by default.
All console commands are prefixed by MapPrompts. However you're better off just using the settings menu, as there are 30 console commands within the addon.
I can look into it, but I'm still not 100% sure how to pull it off.
The pinned thread features a pre-made script for adding support to maps. There is no way to add locations in-game because the code required to add such a mechanic is beyond my skill.
You download a custom font off the internet.
Place it inside your fonts folder (GarrysMod/garrysmod/resource/fonts)
You open the font file and read the font name at the top of the file
You copy that name (case sensitive) and place it inside the "Custom Font" textbox in the settings menu
If the font doesn't update, simply restart the map and it should take effect.

You can do that by extracting the addon (relative to the maps you're playing on) and editing the location prompts manually.

I can, and I won't mind community suggestions for new names.
The prompt will trigger so long as the player is spawning in. I.e. the map is loaded for the first time, or the player has died and then respawned.
I can't give you a straight answer, as I'm honestly not sure how loading saves interacts with this addon.

I don't have much experience with multiplayer-focused commands so I'm not sure.
Not that I know of, but I can add it to the list of community requests.
Player name can already be customized in the settings menu using the "Custom prompt name" textbox (I will probably rename this later, it's confusing.)
Mission name cannot be changed yet, but I will definitely look into adding said feature.
