@The Hunter all the buoys are transmitting trough a specific frequency. Buoy 1 transmits trough the channel "301", Buoy 2 is "302", Buoy 3 is "303" and you get the rest. So any computer that is set to those frequencies can recieve the data. This is a research vessel so all the data can be viewed by everyone.

This is amazing, can the info transmitted from the buoys also be relayed to bases on the mainland? Say for example notifying people on the islands how far and which direction a storm is coming from.
