This would be a great addition to the game, in my opinion, but I found that there's a lot of things an Aerial Crane Helicopter cannot do. No Farms, but Lumber Mills? Not sure about Mines on simple Hills right now. Fishing Boats, but no Fisheries or Seasteads? All sources of renewable energy and all Improvements on Luxury and Strategic Resources but not all Improvements on Bonus Resources? Maybe a problem with other Resource mods... It's classified as a Civilian Unit but can build Forts and its Gold cost to buy does not increase the more you buy. It really feels inconsistent in many places. I would simply love this mod if the ACH could just do everything a Military Engineer and / or a Builder can without having to memorize which unit I need for which task.

@Olfafr_the_Viking they don't spend their build charges, but railroads costs 1 coal and 1 iron

Olfafr_the_Viking not my fault, in the base game military engineers expand their charges for roads but not for railroads, you can check the civlopedia, they say it.

I am having an issue where arial crane helicpoters and military engineers don't expend their build charges when buidling railroads, so they can build as many as they like. Could this mod - or some incompatibilty between this mod and another mod - be the culprit? Anyone else seen this bug? Thanks in advance for any help!

@TimberJackEB I started learning how to do LUA, from my current understanding it could be possible to obtain an effect when on forest fire tiles but i'm not sure for other disasters.

It would be difficult because I don't know of any effect that works like this in vanilla.

However, what if having a rescue chopper near a city grants a population if it is hit by a disaster that causes at least one population to be lost, or if it protects your nearby units from being damaged? Maybe it has a number of charges to make a forest stop burning, alongside immunity to burning forest damage?

@Puddings, do you mean the 'icon portrait' with the photo of the helicopter, or the icon you see on the map. If you want me to change the color of the 3d model, i can't caus i don't know how to do it.

Can you recolor the heli's to match the icons? Rescue heli is white/red and the other one looks orange/brown with some stripes on it

@Katz That would be cool but I don't know how to do it or if it is even possible to create.
The best implementation I can see would be adding a button that can be clicked only if the helicopter is above a natural disaster tile, clicking it would add 1 pop. But it could be broken, having multiple rescue helicopter nearby would allow to have more pop than before the disaster.
Anyway I don't know how to button (yet). If anyone know how to, contact me (or shuricas)

Have you thought about Rescue Helicopters being able to recover population from tiles pilalged by Nat. Disasters? Or is this outside the purvey of the mod?

I don't know for 3D models but I'd like help for icons. Compability wise, I know it will work with Flying Units Expansion, I've stole the Artdef to make this mod.

I really like the idea of hail helicopters, which was also implemented in my mod Flying Units Expansion.
Nice to see that your mod is based on mine, I think you can make this mod compatible with mine (move helicopters to different technologies so there is not one with 3)
