anyway to tune the drop rate?
JustinDaniels 30 Jun @ 10:09pm
Kay, so for anyone asking if you can play the consoles: Yes and No.

No you don't ACTUALLY play the games within PZ.

Yes, your CHARACTER plays the games. You need to be next to a TV, have electricity available for said TV, and have the Console and a Compatible Game either in your inventory or on a nearby tile.

Typically what I do is grab the game I want to play, have a seat next to the TV, and use the game from my inventory, with the console sitting in front of the TV, like a 90's kid all over again.

It's a great way to Destress after killing a bunch of zeds, and immersing myself into a fully-accurate "What would I Do?" scenario.

Can to play the consoles? Or just a decoration's iten?
MotoSpider 5 Jun @ 12:37pm
Do you actually get to play it?
TheGoddess0fWar 28 May @ 11:00am

Can we get a way to connect consoles to tvs in order to work? Sitting down playing a gameboy animation when i play my sega console doesn't make much sense. Also, there's a lot of dummy game items in B42.
JustinDaniels 2 May @ 1:33pm
I have found a few of the dummy game items in the lootables. While they might not have much of a function, I was wondering if it would be possible to add a recipe for them that "Debugs" them?

An idea I have would be that the dummy items be converted into Game Cases, and that by right-clicking them, you can "Remove game from the case", which basically re-rolls the item into an actual, playable game.
NivekRkain 30 Apr @ 2:00pm
It would be cool if you had to connect the console to the TV, and depending on the game it would play some images, it would be much more immersive.
Rem 19 Apr @ 12:04pm
I dont think it does anything bad, but everytime i open the crafting menu to do anything, it says "you need a television and electricity to connect a sega cd"
CarlosCreeper 2 Apr @ 4:33am
God bless u bro, nice mod but I'm scared of you may be getting banned for copyright (Sega + Nintendo).
TaikaJamppa 30 Mar @ 2:23am
It's a damn shame the game is set in the early 90s... I am a late 90s kid myself, and couldn't imagine a single day without my PlayStation :steammocking:. I mean, I literally have one of each!
FrostFire DireWolf 27 Mar @ 4:01am
For some reason I can't seem to play the gamegear

Not sure if this is a bug in B42, but consoles can still be played even if the TV is switched off. One would expect the TV to be switched on for console games to work. If this is down to game limitiations, perhaps adding a new channel for this to work?

That aside: the vanilla Handheld Game Console has neither been removed, or renamed as Nintendo Game and Watch (as I expected it would be) and remains unplayable.

Also, the tool-tips behind this mod are all squiffy:

*The NES, SNES, Sega CD, and Genesis games correctly state they require their specific consoles.

*The CDi games incorrectly state they require a Lynx to play. They should (and do) require the Phillips CDi.

*The Atari, Lynx, Game Gear, and Game Boy games have no tool-tip at all.

Started a new run and ended up with multiple systems after just a few days so yep, pure RNG
🍎Spicy_Apples🍎  [author] 17 Feb @ 2:42am
I had the opposite issue last time I was testing the spawn rates.
Its really just random :ah3saki:.
But in the next update we are adding an option to increase spawn rates.
You can also check schools, those have really high chance to spawn all the items.
Rakensen 16 Feb @ 11:05pm
Idk if it's just my game or if this is intentional, but the spawn rate on consoles is insanely low. Tons of games but nothing to play them on after several months survived

Yet...
richardallard 15 Feb @ 10:07am
Great MOD!

You don't even need to blow on the cartridges to make them work! ;)
Athens111 15 Feb @ 8:36am
@🍎Spicy_Apples🍎 Hey. Can I contact you on discord? I am working on a project that adds-on to your mod and I wanted your permissions for it. Credits will be given of course :spiffo: (Mine is bravepilgrim if you want to contact first and not share it.)
🍎Spicy_Apples🍎  [author] 14 Feb @ 11:49am
hmm I can look into that.
Bobitec 14 Feb @ 11:44am
We need a way to follow what we already found and put in our base and out we don't... Like book marcked mod but for console and video-game...
ReDjOhN 13 Feb @ 7:48am
great thanks
Naustghoul 13 Feb @ 6:32am
"Added Atari Lynx." See, right there is a reason to get this mod... Because nothing says 'Apocalypse' like an Atari Lynx.
🍎Spicy_Apples🍎  [author] 13 Feb @ 6:05am
Update:
Fixed bug realted to item distributon on zombies.
Added Atari Lynx.
Blake Izayoi 7 Feb @ 1:34pm
I think a cool middle ground would be to make it function like a television and VHS tapes; insert the game into the console via dragging it into a slot, then press play to make your character play it.
Skidee 7 Feb @ 6:58am
Nice. I wish you well, and hope you have a fun time working on the next update.
🍎Spicy_Apples🍎  [author] 7 Feb @ 6:56am
Could be in the future, next update is adding another console aswell.
Skidee 6 Feb @ 7:22am
I love this mod. Adds a lot of great collectibles. I have a question though, do you ever plan on adding intellivision and colecovision? Seeing as you have the Atari, I think it'd be cool to have the other consoles of that generation.
Kashi 5 Feb @ 9:26pm
what a shit load of fuck
🍎Spicy_Apples🍎  [author] 5 Feb @ 4:33pm
Np np, have fun.
Dr. Death 5 Feb @ 4:30pm
Jesus i didn't know about that, thank you!
🍎Spicy_Apples🍎  [author] 5 Feb @ 10:32am
With "R" when you are placing the item.
Dr. Death 5 Feb @ 9:45am
How? When i have to place them I only see them looking at the SW and i cant rotate them.
🍎Spicy_Apples🍎  [author] 5 Feb @ 9:43am
I'm not sure what you mean by that, you can rotate them around as much as you want.
Dr. Death 5 Feb @ 9:35am
Is there a chance to make the consoles furniture? Its sad that i place them in one direction only to find out its opposing to the tv!
🍎Spicy_Apples🍎  [author] 4 Feb @ 6:21am
As cool as that would be it sounds a lil more illegal then this and we don't want to summon nintendo legal team.
LucioBLCKWN 3 Feb @ 4:22pm
can you add an interface with the game? like, i put my roms and i can play? it would be amazing.
🍎Spicy_Apples🍎  [author] 2 Feb @ 5:19pm
Thanks, this was already reported.
Its not game breaking and will be fixed next update.
Blake Izayoi 2 Feb @ 5:16pm
I love the mod! Although I've run into an issue with the mod, opening the crafting menu spams the message "you need electricity, a NES and a television to play" and I don't know what causes it.
Guy Incognito 2 Feb @ 3:42pm
@Metal Izanagi explain
Big Al 2 Feb @ 11:54am
@Erick_terra:
If you want to have longer gaming sessions you can open the Crafting Menu, choose the game you want to play (i.e. Play Super Mario World - the game has to be in your inventory) and set the Quantity number (lower right-hand corner of the Crafting Menu, the field above the "Craft" button) to MAX or any number you want i.e. 30. That way your character will perform the action repeatedly as often as you specified and you can sit back and relax without right-clicking the game cartridge in your inventory every time you want to start a "play sessions".

Here's a picture showing what I described:

I hope I could help you and bring you more joy in playing Project Zomboid.
Metal Izanagi 31 Jan @ 6:14pm
Awesome mod. Shame that AVGN(the guy represented on the thumbnail) went and showed up at some gamergate crap. Dude fell off lmao.
Erick_terra 31 Jan @ 10:23am
I don't know if anybody pointed this out, But playtime does not scale with timescale. I like to play on larger timescales (One day equal 6 real hours).
Every timed action in-game is scaled to this. So lets say that cooking something takes 30 in-game minutes. With different timescales, it always takes 30 in-game minutes. But these 30 minutes just takes longer in real-time, so you have to fast forward more.
I'm guessing that every "play session" in this mods takes about 1 in-game hour, on vanilla (1 Hour days). But with 6 hours, playing once only takes about 10 in-game minutes.
Using Games as a way to "pass time" without boredom is essential to this kind of playtrough, and why I dowloaded this mod.
Hopefully this can be adjusted with the timescale like base game actions do.

My NES Addon is causing the crashes after me updating it.
Sorry for the inconviniences, guys!

As Spicy_Apples has said: unsubscribe from my NES Addon for the time being if you are using an existing save. If you start a new savegame everything will work fine.
🍎Spicy_Apples🍎  [author] 29 Jan @ 8:15am
Addon MOD "More NES Games" is causing issues on existing saves.
If your game is crashing disable it. It should work fine on new saves.
Aria The Fox 29 Jan @ 6:47am
I would be willing to send you mine but am unsure how to go about doing so.
