Re the 4-character teleporter bug, is it possible to use 6 characters if they all stand on the portal (ie save & move individually), or is this hard-locked to only work with 4?

Hey all - what is expected final party level for this campaign?

Also, I've found that for 6-character parties using teleporters, pausing & moving each character individually onto the pad will work. Does that not even work for the teleporter in this mod - ie you simply can't use 6-character party no matter what?

Yeah, I got it to work with 4 person and just finished the mod. It was fun! Thanks for making it!

Just out of curiosity why is that most of the portals work fine with 6 person and then there's the one that doesn't. This isn't the only mod I found that with. Just so happened that i downloaded two that night and both of them broke about 2+ hours in.

Anyhow, good work :)

Can't get the portal to work. I have the note but the portal is not activating. is it because i have a 6 member party?

There are 3 ways to deal with it that i can think of

The objective is to run through the trapped area one by one through almost like a maze. you could sit there and disarm them if you really want but thats more time consuming. you could also run through and tank them all they are pretty weak.

okay, I'm pretty certain its cause I have unfinished business and have increased the character limit to 6 but Im not being teleported by standing in the candles, no matter where I stand, unless I have to also activate something and I dont see it

Can't open final door in Cragmaw keep.

Killed "Glick" the bullette but it didn't drop any key. Got 4 Gudren's Cell Keys from the 4 orc grimblades in front of the door but when I try to open the door it just says door can't be opened. Tried putting one key on each character and all 4 on my main character. I'm using UB.

Can't progress, and can't back track because the's no exit available where I came in the keep through the sewers.

@pontes if you entered the cave the portal to phandalin should have appeared near the bottom of the map where you find the sign post.

If it didn't work go in and out of the cave from multiple angles because it's a map trigger and should work with minimum effort

Hi! loving the map so far. I went to the goblin cave, cleaned the thing and talked to the guy. After that I left the cave and went to the South Phandalin leave area thing. It shows the text description of Phandalin but once that disappears I'm back to the same place. Is this bug happening to anyone else? how do you fix it?

Too less magical items for the difficulty. Enemies spawn in front of the group out of nowhere, which I alsways considered bad GMing ;-)

They do not match, You need to find/kill GlassStaff to get the final note needed to progress. The note you have tells you how to progress

The note at the end of the Redbrand Hideout is "Note form Glass Staff". The locked door in Phandalin requires an item "Note from Glass Spider". Are these supposed to match? I can't open the door since I don't have the Glass Spider note. Is this broken or does the note come from somewhere else? I have finished everything else I'm aware of. I have no more active quests except for the main quest. Thanks.

I think if you do all the side quests and everything you should be around lvl 9-10 at the end

At lvl 8 it probably is tough but the goal of the fight was to utilize CC and focus down.

If its still too difficult adjust dice modifiers tbh it wasnt a balanced encounter (and ive nerfed it a few times lol) so adjust as needed

With that said ive beaten the whole campaign on Cata before publishing and nerfing the game

What level should you be for the final boss fight? I liked the module and didn't have any of the problems with door or gates that others mention. I didn't find any of the encounters too difficult until I got to the final boss at level 8. I have tried several times and can kill all of the minions easily but the boss just destroys me. With the legendary actions, each PC takes 1 round for the boss to kill.

@drg if you fought the wraith you auto failed it. its a one time chance at a persuasion check when you approach the shirine. If you succeed you get a reward if not you get nothing, you lose! good day sir!

I tried to go to Phandalin in a multiplayer game but the exit didn't go off. It displayed the text describing the town, but didn't load the town map. When loading in single player, the exit worked.

Where is the comb for Agatha if there is one? I cant flatter her at all. No item received after getting the quest unless I sold the comb by accident but then I looked everywhere and couldn't find it. HEEEEEEEEEELP

as silly as it is make sure the character holding the note opens the door, sometimes i notice that it has to be the main person carrying key items.

@Chili_Con_Carnage After you have cleared the redbrands GlassStaff drops a note that can be used to unlock the gate at the front of Phandalin that leads you to the next area of the game

All my new characters for this adventure have -5 or -4 for ALL SKILLS in the character screens even though that is not what is happening in the game itself.

Had a bug in the first cave. The named boss with the warg jumped on a movable block when I killed him. I assume he drops a key for the final room, but I couldn't get to it, the bag was floating in the air. From what I can tell this is just a common game bug and nothing to do with the mod. Could be wrong though.

Possible progression lock in Cragmaw Castle sewers.

I had somehow accidentally sold my thieves' tools. The door at the end of the sewer requires them to open it.

There is no map transfer to travel back to previous areas. I loaded an older save and the swamp outside does not let you backtrack either.

The only reason why this didn't lock my game is that with the Unfinished Business mod I was able to spawn in a new set of thieves' tools.

My fault I lost the tools, but this situation wouldn't have happened if the player were allowed to backtrack.

@dobby I'm 100% fine with that bug i assumed there would be a way to get around that gate and although not intentional im glad you figured it out!

Fully understand but in most of the base maps the bad guys are expecting you, and we have such easy ways to ambush the enemies but when it happens to us 2-3 times we get mad :P

Fully understand the criticism but thinking on your feet and getting caught in an unprepared encounter to me is just dnd

I'm glad you toughed it up to the end though, hopefully it brought you some joy XD

This 100% is my campaign, built for myself first and foremost but i fully understand not everyone has my masochistic attitude
(I've beaten it on Cataclysm pre nerfs lol)

thanks for the reply.
specifically my issues were around the sudden spawning in of most combatants.
it nullified the entire stealth mechanic because you would move into the trigger range and they just appear on top of you ready to go, and you're surrounded.
there was no way to employ tactics, care or caution.. it was just ambush after ambush of deadly encounters and the boss creatures were bags of hitpoints that hit very hard.
If you put all the boss fights in tiny rooms where i cant prepare or sometimes evade their AOE or move away or be tactical then the fight is just 'rocket tag' and whoever goes first wins
ALSO! found a bug way around your one boss where your players are supposed to step on plates to separate the party to make it a really really one sided boss fight in the end... you can just have someone with misty step zip over the top each time after the other 3 get through... i assume it wasn't intended. just thought you might want to know :)
