I simply look at how these shapekeys change the shape the survivor's face and then re-create these flexes on my custom character in the same order with same names. Also in the qc file these flexes are set up in a bit of a complicated way, but they will have a proper name in the flex controller list in GMod/SFM
AND I MEAN, WHAT KIND OF FLEXES ARE THEY? LIKE THE NAMES FOR EXAMPLE...DEPENDING ON WHAT THE NAMES ARE, THEN'LL I'LL KNOW WHETHER THERE FAC OR HWM. HWM IS THE FLEXES TF2 CHARACTERS HAVE AND FAC ARE THE ONES L4D1 AND HL2 CHARACTERS HAVE.
FOR EXAMPLE, SOME FAC FLEXES ARE "CORNER_PULLER/DEPRESSOR" ECT.
I EPRSOANLLY LIEK FAC BETTER THAN HWM FLEXES JSUT SO U KNOW XD. ANYWAYS, I MAINLY ASKED IN ALL HONESTY, AND BECAUSE I NEED A GOOD MEL MODEL WITH FULL FACE POSING FOR USE IN SOURCE FILMMAKER/GMOD.
ALSO, I WRITE LIKE THIS BECAUSE...WELL MY BIOO EXPLAINS IT BEST, I THINK. BUT I'M LEGALLY BLIND BASICALLY AND THIS HELPS ME SEE THE LETTERS BETTER, I KNOW THERE ARE OTHER METHODS OF MAKING THE TEXT LOOK BETTER BUT I'M SO USED TO THIS METHOD.
Not sure what you mean by those facial flex types, but I make flexes on all of my characters in blender by replicating the flexes of the survivor I'm replacing and copying their flexfile config into the qc file of my custom character
