Hoping for an update to this as well!

I believe the SirNukes dependency is currently broken, but some people say there's a fix on Nexus. Not sure about this mod though.

Absolutely needed, paired with Getting paid takes care of what is overlooked but crucial for the game to function. Never having to pay for anything after initial purchase in an Economy sandbox empire building? No thanks

Does this mod work on curent version? Anyone tried it?
On a side note taxes should have been included in the base game since there's barely anything you can achieve without having a tradie empire - and what empire is that without taxes :O?

Is it possible to set the workforce tax as a negative number? Cythal recommended an integrated version below, but being able to set workforce taxes to negative (and therefore paying wages instead of collecting taxes) would accomplish the same goal I think.

Suggestions. I also like Getting Paid, https://www.nexusmods.com/x4foundations/mods/136 .

If possible, perhaps you could ask the author to create an integrated version that allows the player to adjust the settings of getting paid with taxes using the extension options.

How does this interact with mods like Tatertrade which try and automatically find a profitable trade route?

And exchange for having to invest such significant firepower into the sector, the "protection money" they have to pay would be 4-5 times what normal taxes are (around 15% based on the defaults).

Honestly, I would kinda like for there to be an option to make at least scale plate and dukes pay taxes.

Obviously, things like Xenon and Kha'ak would never have to pay, as they don't do business with anyone so much as just attack everything on sight. One is still capable of at least opening a dialog with criminal enterprises since they are, after all, still enterprises that need to do business.

I know they are outlaw groups, but there is also the idea of "protection racketeering"...

For example, you should be able to make those criminal enterprises pay taxes so long as you have sufficient military presence in the sector to cow them; say, 3 destoyers or a single battleship/carrier.
Essentially, you saying to them "that's a mighty nice station you have there. It'd be a shame for something to happen to it in MY SECTOR. Of course, you can pay me to keep that station of yours safe from other rouge elements".

@draeath - Sorry for the late reply, disabling the taxes removes penalties and the payment system, like it doesn't exist!

Perfect, thank you! One last stupid question now that I have it installed.

If i disable paying taxes via the extension options, does that count as "not paying" as far as penalties go? Or is that specific to not having enough funds to pay, when payment is enabled?

It's every 30 minutes by default, it's the first configuration option in the menu (Location under Extension options) so you can change how you want

Works well,:Crowned: I use the getting paid mod as well. Which let´s you pay salaries for shipcrewmembers I don´t know how much work this would be but I think such an mechanic would be a fine addition to your mod.

That's a very good point, I have a few ideas for dealing with this - I'll get something working tomorrow for it

@mazrados I'll have a look at getting something going for this as well, but there is a mod called "Getting Paid" that address most of this too!

Periodical payments for workers, this would be cool.
It bothers me a little that I pay once and later people are not paid at all. I mean, how do they live, for this one time payment?
Not sure if it is moddable at all.

one thing that bother me always on the landlord mod is the Tax on the story mission you get suddenly out of the blue....
You end with an station that not get actual any income (and this a long time) - but you musst pay an hugh amount of tax for it ...
This situation should be handled, like the story mission station self is Tax "free" - but only as long, as it will not be upgraded ... so if you have the money to upgrade it - you should prepare for tax paying after this .... imho :D
