That's good news, thank you :) I'll integrate it to my ship

@Pierre-Luc I just updated it with a new design. It now produces over 160,000W. It's also more compact having removed the electric motor and moving the condensers to the opposite side, allowing the reactor to be closer to the boilers.

Hey there, I have your creation installed in a ship I'm working on. Last I was in the game was before the space DLC. Now with the space DLC changes the generator doesn't seem to be working anymore. Have you updated your generator to work with the space dlc and its changes like fluid pressure?

@thechort Thank you! Will do!

@Reesecraft28 feel free to use anything from it. Just post a link here so I can check out what you made.

Would you mind if I use the controllers and general layout in a vessel I intend on posting to the Workshop? I had made a derivative of your design small enough to fit in the railroad work benches yet produces twice the power and I've found it so handy that I'd stick it in my ships as well.

Of course I'd post crediting you.

@Flyer ace 21 Yes you still need the clutch. The clutch slip helps it maintain the flywheel speed. You will probably need to remove some of the gearboxes. I believe the flywheel spins over 4000 rps, I forget off hand.

do i need the clutch still or no

thank you because im planing to put this into i ship so i don't need inf fuel

@Flyer ace 21 It's meant to provide electric power.
However, you can remove the generator and connect the 5X5 clutch that is constantly 1 (the one closest to the regular clutch) to a throttle lever. You might need to lower the gearing though.

please tell me is there where i could connect this to an propeller for an ship

Here is a few ideas:
Steam Leaks
Piston Slip
Boiler Over-pressure
Boiler Under-pressure
Boiler Pump Failure

All these would have to be toggled by a switch of course, I can also add these myself

Whatever works for you, at least have a few realistic damage scenarios, I haven't worked on the boiler/turbine halls in my power plant yet
thechort  [author] 6 Aug, 2022 @ 8:02pm
@Echoless Do you mind it blinking up to it's stable point? It's going to need multiple boilers because the one I'm currently working on is climbing up over 200KW with 9 steam pistons. Feel free to add me to give me more details so I can make it more compatible with the types of errors for the catastrophe.

Its for my Destructible Nuclear Power Plant

I know this is probably too much, but I need an assembly (a few sets of piston generators) that can produce 1 Megawatt
thechort  [author] 6 Aug, 2022 @ 6:42pm
@Echoless Didn't really plan on it, how much more power do you need? I could make one for you.
Echoless 6 Aug, 2022 @ 5:32pm
Are you going to make a more powerful version anytime soon?

@jasondmaynard use the selection grid tool
thechort  [author] 24 Jul, 2022 @ 1:13pm
@jasondmaynard yeah you can use a fire box. I haven't done any testing with them but you might need to have it pretty high since this thing uses a good bit of steam. Make sure to keep plenty of distance between the firebox and condenser so you don't heat soak it.

@DeDerpy, on a system with more than one piston I don't believe it matters too much. I've been seemingly getting more stable rps and more power with them.

Does having the steam go to the top or bottom actually help it run better? I don't have the system and it normally draws from both at the same time, and it runs pretty well
