Then, touch up on the secondary texture. I can't really tell what it's supposed to be, but from what I can surmise it's supposed to be a wood texture with splattered glowing paint or glowing dots. Focus on bringing that wood texture to life, and if you see fit to have something glowing on it, make it pieces of broken crystal, or something of the like.
Also, make sure that the alpha-reflections are not as harsh as the preview images make them seem.
Put in some more work on this item and it can really be something magical.
