I won't lie though, the idea for a more subtle style for painting the hairs tips only is not without merit and I would def love to see it.

Also people choosing weird colors for hair isn't something we can prevent.

there's already a lot of fully paintable hair ingame, it's good to keep that consistent so people can continue to colour match beards, mutton chops, etc

fine as a style though (but doesn't seem strictly necessary)

I wouldn't make the entire hairpiece paintable. It's really good, I like the reference and the fact that it can work with a lot of other loadouts. However, having it be fully pink is a little obnoxious.
However, dyeing the hair-tips would be much more subtle.
