UPDATE PLEASE! WE ARE WAITING FOR.
Zorlond 27 Jun @ 8:38pm
Money system changes are... extensive. This needs an update, otherwise the gameplay is incompatible.

Please update!!
NoDMoD 10 Dec, 2024 @ 10:28pm
Yep, the parliament mechanic is completely useless in regards to MD political functions.
While I really like the idea of this mod, it's pretty much useless. It only drains your politcial power constantly while not offering any change to the actual party system of MD.
NoDMoD 10 Dec, 2024 @ 9:56pm
Are the seats actually implemented with MD political system?
It seems to me it's just a waste of political power, as I am not sure if lobbying for a party actually raises their popularity.

great mod but the only thing broken is the minimum wage system which has its own mind
Timpoe 20 Aug, 2024 @ 2:36pm
my minimum wage keeps increasing without notice from 7 to 15 am i missing something?
bamcat  [author] 7 Jul, 2024 @ 5:39pm
@Pop @LiterallyReverie @AshtheBoss0326 I kept the population increase feature because I wanted to give same-sex marriage a buff and was thinking about adoption. Didn't intend for it to decrease though so i.g you're still right. I'll change it
LiterallyReverie 7 Jul, 2024 @ 4:26pm
@Asgtgeviss0326 Literally what the fuck are you talking about??? Thats not how anything I said works
AshtheBoss0326 7 Jul, 2024 @ 4:22pm
@literallyReviere, as a gay person that makes zero sense, i aint just gonna inject sperm into my dick and expect a baby to pop out
LiterallyReverie 28 May, 2024 @ 5:25pm
and gay people who cant be with who they love probably wont be reproducing so that could explain the decline if you dont have it accepted
LiterallyReverie 28 May, 2024 @ 5:23pm
You do know that gay people still reproduce right? Be it via surrogates, sperm donations, IVF or adoption
Poppy 19 May, 2024 @ 1:32pm
Why does same-sex marriage increase monthly population, but when you don't have it, it decreases? That makes 0 sense.

@Nspringhart Passing laws as USA depends on your president. if you have a democratic president and lots of support in congress you can pass liberal laws and vice versa. You can also use the legislation designer with any party. Also, the mod isn't updated to the latest version right now and I'm working on it so give me a lil time
Nspringhart 2 Mar, 2024 @ 11:46am
Hello, Im very late to the party, but how would you be able to pass legislation as the USA? it has no parliment system, it has a two party one
AkumuNyaaa 1 Dec, 2023 @ 4:24pm
I never seen it but I'll have to try this
bamcat  [author] 1 Dec, 2023 @ 3:53pm

Still broke. :(
bamcat  [author] 17 Sep, 2023 @ 7:15am
@Zorlond I have released a patch which (might) fix the issue, but I'm still not entirely sure what's causing it. The resource gain efficiency was a typo, and I've readjusted the modifier.
Zorlond 6 Sep, 2023 @ 7:33pm
Something's wrong with Minimum Wage. It's initial setup works fine, sets to $7 like it should, but after a while of playing, it sets itself to nothing. Not $1, it just stops being set to any of the options. I've done text searches, and none of the mods I have even mention 'Xwages_idea' let alone change what it's set to. I've tried console commands to set the wage, but after a while it's unset again. It's also the only Idea that unsets itself.

By the by, why does $12 wages have a positive Resource Gain Efficiency when all the others have negatives?
LoneWolf 6 Sep, 2023 @ 1:40pm
Thanks BTW!

Though nothings changed on my end for some reason, including the tool tip for the approval rating box. Even after re-subscribing.
bamcat  [author] 29 Aug, 2023 @ 2:38pm
@goon0616 I've just released a patch, laws shouldn't change anymore when a new government has been elected. It problem stemmed from laws changing when switching ideologies in vanilla, and I forgot to make it compatible with the new political system of Millennium Dawn.
LoneWolf 29 Aug, 2023 @ 1:56pm
changing government types also changes laws. For example, if the U.S. elects the libertarians, the press becomes restricted, environmental regulations go to no restrictions, as well as other things.

Maybe its assuming that non aligned countries are totalitarian? Also, it changes the entire government from legislative to autocratic, and you cant change it back. pretty strange
bamcat  [author] 27 Aug, 2023 @ 3:20pm
@Rosenkranz228 I've attempted to fix the minimum wage issue, but I'm not entirely sure as to what's causing it so I can't guarantee that it was fixed in this update. Addressing the other issues will take some time, so for now, I've lowered the monetary cost of passing legislation.
bamcat  [author] 27 Aug, 2023 @ 3:17pm
@Zorlond I've added a tooltip to the approval rating box which breaks down everything affecting your weekly approval rating
Zorlond 21 Aug, 2023 @ 3:14am
I can't figure out how to raise Approval, other than random events. Admittedly, it does make for more active politics, but the RL US doesn't typically have a presidential assassination attempt every month...
Rotmistr Pivasechnik 17 Jul, 2023 @ 2:48pm
Cool submod but a bit unfinished and unbalanced, the cost of changing various policies is static and often too high, like with decisions related to parliament, which cost money. Probably the cost of change should be dynamic and balanced for each country. I also noticed that many policies have very minor effects, and the minimum wage often brokes when changing ideology. But in general, the submod really makes the gameplay more interesting and varied, I hope it will develop

@DemonicVoid Recover your stability above 30%
DemonicVoid 27 Aug, 2022 @ 3:28am
Hello, how can i get rid of Nationwidee Insurgency modifier?
bamcat  [author] 2 Aug, 2022 @ 8:38am
@Tyon
It's by design, in the original mod, the liberal and conservative parties both start with 80 seats, which I didn't change when adapting it to the millennium dawn party system.

I may consider a system (and parliament rework) like that in the future, I chose a US-style system because it would allow people in the original mod to get whatever laws they want without being limited to the ~4 usual elections in most countries from 1936-1946

I would lower the amount of seats required to enact laws, however it's pretty easy to get seats in parliament, so I decided to keep it high because I felt it would be realistic if it took ~1.5 years to get better laws rather than ~6-8 months
Tyon 1 Aug, 2022 @ 1:22pm
And I think there should be an option to form a Minority government, so with less votes than you need to win an election.
That would obviously mean you can't enact laws, without the help of the other parties.
And that already exists in the mod, for the EU parliament.
Perhaps it'd be possible to copy that.
You'd have to spend PP and give small concessions to the other parties.
Depending on the party you'd try to win over your party would then lose popularity for the next election.
Say you have a Green/Non Aligned party and it tries to win over a right wing Populist/Nationalist Party.
That would be quite bad for their numbers in real life as well.

As a European it seems incredibly weird to need 90% of the votes to enact something like health care reforms.
I don't think even the US is that extreme. :D

That's what I had on my mind when I tried the mod out.

PS: You get a Rhineland militarisation event some time after the start of the game.
Perhaps a bit late in the 2000s
Tyon 1 Aug, 2022 @ 1:22pm
Some observations
Idk if it's by design that the initial parliament doesn't represent the last election result.
In Germany you have the NPD with a 1/4 of the votes, which is wild.

Uh is the system essentially the US system?
Not sure if that is the best decision.
Lobbying doesn't exist in parliamentary systems like that with coalitions.
I think throughout the Legislative period the parliament should be a lot more static.
To mix it up seats could be won/lost through sporadic events when an MP changes the party. Could be fun with parties that didn't get over the threshold.
Tyon 1 Aug, 2022 @ 9:35am
You are way too fast :D

Will check it out in a few hours, thx
bamcat  [author] 1 Aug, 2022 @ 9:28am
@Tyon just released a patch, it should work as intended now.
Tyon 1 Aug, 2022 @ 9:08am
When I lobby the SPD in Germany it loses seats while the FDP gains them.
Seems like the code has something switched up.
Tyon 1 Aug, 2022 @ 7:23am
This looks awesome
Asgard 30 Jul, 2022 @ 9:28am
