I built a workshop ship in survival. Tried to land on a planet. Power went out mid landing. Htank blew taking me and the survival kit with it.
Loaded a save and used a trick from a very smart YouTuber named Luca to park my ship by turning it into a station. That earned time to figure out what happened.
I had edited the design to add a few large cargo. When I messed with the connectors I had disconnected the refinery from the reactors. Ran out of juice and dropped like a rock. If you have only one large grid ship with your only refinery that is a painfully expensive loss.
Now I only fly designs after fully mapped out the conveyors. That ship however? Htank too close to the cockpit and the SK is within boom range? Not saying what ship out of respect for an author but never flying that one again.
To clarify why I like this and what my focus is when I choose a ship design to build it is... not really about... PCU.
Your efficient designs cut down to the core of what is needed to make a ship functional and then maximize that functionality. I like that. It makes it easy to figure out game mechanics and for a novice that is amazing.
However... I usually play solo offline cause I know my limitations. Con is stuff blows up in my face hard... but it also means I dont have to worry about PCU or PVP. Which are both areas I am not about to challenge you in.
Seriously if I ever go multiplayer and I find you in the area I am dumping ALL my cargo save fuel and GTFO.
I am a relatively new player(please skip all the NOOB jokes). I keep running into a problem playing SE and I tried to make or find a ship fitting a specific criterion to combat it. That is what SE seems to be all about.
This ship is the first of its kind I have found that I can easily see how it is put together, small enough I could build it in survival (without a dreadnaught worth of resources) and has a refinery.
If you know of any others meeting these criteria (that I probably missed or are unaware of) please comment.
Otherwise, THIS SHIP IS AMAZING!
