Report a translation problem
As of today, I have developed the first version of the Tripod, it has animation and texture, mind you I did take a little creative liberty in the development to avoid copyright (I've seen mods come and go because of some devs getting upset with modders and threatening to sue them for "stealing" their works).
I'd say it took me a total of 4 hours developing the model, the animations and baking texture.
For example, if The Martians attempt world domination, what I'm thinking the field reporter will say:
"I prayed this day will never come. But The Martians have gazed upon our planet with envious eyes and have made their plans against us. This is the beginning of the route of civilization...the massacre of mankind. God help us".
Of the Martians "insulting" you is the reporter warning you that your military isn't ready for the threat the martians pose and what not.
The idea of having the Martian dialogue all be "Ulla" followed by translation is amusing. Though, I have three suggestions for other ways of handling it:
#1: The most prosaic way, which is to make a Martian Council as their leader, with them "communicating telepathically" with the player. In the Jeff Wayne games there's a circular room with some Martians in it, could take a screenshot of that.
#2: Use narration to have the Martians communicate non-verbally. "You witness the Martians do this, and you suspect they want that"
#3: This is an out-there idea, but it's what I think would be the coolest idea: The Martian's "Leader" isn't actually a Martian or even an ally to them. Rather, they're a human researcher or eyewitness who observes Martians and reports their activities to other leaders, and who tries to warn them about The Martians.
