Aha yea, having the batteries get filled by the station is a really nice feature ^^
That battery lasts for, like, 30 minutes too
You can also just make something (such as the engine / pumps / nav terminal) take 0 power by clicking on them in the editor

Enable this mod, and then click click on the submarine editor in the main menu

Update: tried the Iron Lung out personally, as an Iron Lung enthusiast does. And I must say it was incredibly easy to steer, perfect speeds for a rusty little box meant for death row prisoners. And I'm gonna admit it is incredibly fun to pilot around and use as a scout craft for caves! 11/10 my new favorite craft.
