Thanks! Yeah, the material used, does not allow for the shades that I wanted, so it looks lighter. The red is the exact same color as the bigger ships, so I put more red into it, so it would look darker than it would have. I'm sure I don't have to tell you that building in this game is a series of compromises. You navigated those in your builds, masterfully!

@N7 I like the choice of cockpit for that design, and the overall design definitely screams Zirax. It's maybe a little light in color in comparison to the rest of the zirax fleet, but again the look is unmistakably zirax. The flat profile is great as well. Cool looking ship man

BTW, I can see a small amount of Zirax design in your ship, mostly the very front, which looks good. I converted some of the Zirax ships to be usable in server. I wasn't sure what to do with the Dreadnought's hangar bays, but StuBob showed me his Naboo fighter, which looked like a good starting point for a Zirax fighter. So I made one. Look it up. Zirax Light Fighter.

I like the Zirax style, so I am likely going to make a few more ships. Possibly a heavy fighter with a 2nd seat and turret that excels by having a person controlling it. Maybe a drop ship, and possibly a tank to go in that. I may also make a Zirax gunship, as a POI killer. Basically, I hate that the fighters, drop ship and bombers look nothing like Zirax ships.

I would enjoy your thoughts on the Zirax Light Fighter. It seems like most people have no desire in making ships that fit the Zirax style. I will admit that it is challenging.

N7_Shadow, yes those are valid points. A lot of the builds now are antiquated, or no longer compatible, and with some, authors have moved on. No harm in giving some love

I also looked for a very tiny base to use as a teleportation housing, but couldn't find one, so I used jrandall's Vault, modifying it to suit my purposes. We use these to teleport to autominers and water collectors. It still looks similar to the Vault, but serves an entirely different purpose now. Would this be useful to people?

I don't mind if somebody modifies it and uploads it...so long as it's a meaningful change. Something that adds value to it, or changes it drastically. It would be good for them to give me credit, just as I gave StuBob credit for the Naboo Fighter to start the build.

I do not think just making a few changes that anyone can easily do in game for themselves, is a good reason to re-upload a build.

I also turned his Waypoint farm into an industrial farm. His has 180 plots, mine 1260 plots. We use it to farm fiber. Footprint is 4x the original. I assure you, it took me way more than 10 clicks. I strive to make it look like jrandall made the changes, not me.

I've done this with several of his builds. I'm currently working on the MCRN base, and the farm again, converting it to be used in places that have no breathable atmosphere, as many of the plots are on the roof where he had the landing areas. This makes the farm more accessible to those who want a large farm, but may be operating off a moon, or planet with toxic atmosphere. I may also turn this into a small space station for farming. jrandall has no interest in doing this himself, or he would have already done it. From what I've seen, he's OK with people doing this with his builds.

As to the re-uploads, I think it's case by case basis. For instance, I am likely going to upload a couple of jrandall's builds, but not to steal his work...to make it more accessible to some. For instance, are you aware that his MCRN base is quite fragile? Entire sections are made of plastic. I have subbed to and spawned many of his works. I think they are amazing. But they often aren't built to take a hit. For instance, I spawned his Tachi and the associated docking station. Turns out the ramps on the docking station are all plastic. I was standing on one when a Zirax bomber dropped a bomb on the ramp. There's almost nothing left of it, and I don't know exactly how it was built, so now I'm wishing I had converted it to Combat Steel. Our server wipes in a week, so I will likely convert it to Combat Steel before I spawn it again.

I think there should be an etiquette to modifying and uploading a build.

1. The modification should be significant and meaningful, such as taking a PvE build and converting to be better for PvP, or a PvP build converted to a PvE build. The changes should be much more than a style/visual change.
2. Credit should be given to the author of the original build, including a link to that build, to increase traffic to the original.

The question is, at what point is the build your own, if you start with something else? StuBob gave me a PvP, Delta shaped CV, and I spawned it in creative and 100 hours later, they were no longer the same ships. Everything got changed, or moved. But, I would still give StuBob credit for giving me the BP I started with. I made my version for the PvE section of the server, adding hangar bays, grow plots, a Bridge on top with glass all around, and many other editions. The entire outside of the ship also changed.

Just subbed to it. Very nice LyfeForse, wish i had the creative talents like you and Jrandall and many others I am subbed to. I am looking as i write this for the only thing i see missing and that's a Grav gen. to place it w/o losing the plots lol. i like to grow my rations in flight.

Why everybody thinks i'm a thief now ? I already said in the infos of the blueprint i have published that it's only "my version of the awesome ship made by LyfeForse" (with a link to it) with some little changes (like texts translated in french)... The devs completely accept that, a few years ago, they already added the name of the real builder in the blueprint propertys (at the last page when you type "P" inside the ship) and so in the one i made it's says "made by LyfeForse".

Some malicious, some generally enthusiastic about a build, and want to retouch it their own fashion for others to see. As builders our responses will vary of course, but the majority of us im sure have the same perspective, in that its tough to see something we've spent dozens, in some cases hundreds of hours on a build, and released to workshop, only to be reupload by someone else on the same day, with the original author now having to compete with their own build.

I have built a imitation of the Sancutary 3 so I can understand how long it takes to build to a model, let alone your own design. I don't think i can inspirate you with anything, i'm only good to modify blueprints for my personal use ^^' (especially for energy saving). I can't make anything correct, only some components glued together with armor around it.... really xD

Sorry Tony, I am very passionate about it. I appreciate your enthusiam for it of course. I was actually talking with a factionmate earlier about doing a military version in red and black or red and yellow, but I wanted it to drop of the popular of the week list first, because I dont want to oversaturate the workshop with my stuff. @LyfeForse : I like blue :D look at my "Blue Nemesis" or my "Taranis Tx" or even my "Hyperion L20" lol.
But i feel like red (Rosso Corsa ?) is better for this ship, i need to try some colors.
It's just i'm tired to see white 'original' color on ships, so sorry i don't ask you to change it yourself, it's just my own preference ^^'

I looked at it a little, and yes it's really good ! you can add a gravity generator and even a shield v1 from the start and still get a 100% CPU ^^
...but yes, it has A LOT of modulable storages, i understand now why you say we must be carefull of the weight before take off xD
