@Alex_GranD I didn't check for 7.1, but if they haven't changed the variable name of the graviton turrets it should work as expected.

Thank you for the mod. Honestly I hesitated to use it, thinking it might be too much nerf, but yeah it really makes the game a lot less tedious.
The problem with xenons isn't they are hard to fight against. Like Mirek said most L ships has better range, and M ships can easily missile engines. But there's no good way to fight them OOS apart from building ridiculous defense platforms. With this nerf I can finally go and do story missions or harass transport ships while my fleet deal with xenons for 100th time

@goompastr I have not checked it with VRO. I would imagine that the load order would matter, since VRO also rebalances some weapon damage.

@Moe❤(>^ω^<)❤Meow No restart is needed, also it is safe to remove it whenever you want. The game will just revert back to the original weapon damage.

@siem.96 Oh yeah. The way the combat AI in this game sucks is unbelievable. It can be used to players benefit tho. I let the xenon take the systems, then i oportunisticaly take the systems i like, from the xenon. this way i can grow my empire without antagonising the factions. Actually Teladi, and Paranid actually hold no sectors anymore in my current save. all theyr sectors now belong to me or xenon. Same goes for most of spilt families. The only reason Antigone or Argon are still existing is that i controll systems between them and xenon. Anyway Fair play to you for modding that game. Happy trails.

@Mirek No offence taken. I was using the strategies you offer, but I was a bit tired of constantly saving 3 of the main factions from extinction single handedly. did not even have time to engage with the other parts of the game because of the constant threat :(

I do think your post can give others coming here with difficulties some good tips and tricks. thank you for that :)

Not criticizing the mod, just offering other options:

Graviton turret has Range of some 5km. Argon Plasma turret has 8km, Behemot main gun 10km. You can turn off flight assist and freefloat trough space to different direction than your ship is aiming. So. You can easily with some patience destroy a fleet of Xenon capital ships with one Behemot, by ciircling the xenon ships and shooting from beiond theyr range. Or if you have unlocked terran SIN destroyer then you dont even need to be patient . Just ceep track of the other Capitals in the fleet so they dont flank you. If you have unlocked teleportation research, you can even brutalize xenons on svereal fronts at once.

For gate guarding, i found that lining 6 AI controled behemoths 8km from gate in a tight line facing the gate, and reinforcing their possition with about hundred Mk2 laser towers can do just fine with out player supervision.

This is an absolute must have. The xenon turrets will just shred through ships that are M-XL. S sized ships have a better chance to avoid being hit. These guns are absolutely unfair imo so thanks for the mod. Love you!
