That worked for me for some other mods that created unusual ships.
To be fair, the only reason why I list Gigas as a requirement is because there are like two stages of the Elven Dyson Sphere that makes use of an asset from that mod (you can still build it nonetheless but there will be missing models, they are mid stages though so the finished Dyson Sphere will still look fine).
Yes for Real Space (Real Space system scale on the other hand... no)
If there is something out there that really catches my attention the same way the shipset from Elves of Stellaris has, then maybe. But for right now there are no plans besides a couple megastructure skins being added to some of my own Star Wars sets (though I have contemplated the possibility of at least doing a Gigastructures comparability patch for the Asari ringworld).
No worries, it's actually good that you brought this to my attention as I am not really into Stellaris at the moment, though this will change when 4.0 releases as I really like what I see there. All my mods are in maintain only mode for the time being.
But once I get back to modding when 4.0 comes out I will very much be finishing what remains of the elven re-skins needed here as all that does remain are a few of the more complex gigas. Though I am more interested in doing the Big Vat and the Alderson Disk first (but the Maginot Ringworld shouldn't be too much trouble either).
Well this is beyond embarrassment for me as a modder. I thought I had this one updated already! My sincere apologies to everyone here, I assure you this won't happen again!
Well... it's updated now, and with a full test of all re-skins in this mod as well. The only structures that needed fixing were the macroengineering testing site and the terraforming megastructures. Surprisingly the attack moon, planetcraft and elysium work perfectly fine despite the past comments.
Looks like I am going to have to go though everything in a test game, I will see if I can get a fix out this weekend.
They worked fine when I last checked though the Gigastructures team could had changed something since then, I'll test this tomorrow.
I'll think about doing that for those who do not use Gigastructures, it shouldn't be too much extra work.
I did not even know that there was a maginot upgrade for a ringworld section, I guess I can see if there is anything I can do.
I would love to check but Gigastructures has not been updated to 3.12 yet. So... any bugfix will have to wait.

Don't usually build on those little stars. Anyway, hope this is helpful for you.
Sigh... always something broken these days.
Thanks for letting me know, I'll patch it in the next few days (sorta busy right now)

It wouldn't surprise me if the Gigastructures team changed the entity being loaded again. I'll investigate.
any idea why ?
It's possible. I do want to start adding to this mod again (I took a bit of a break from playing and modding Stellaris until now) and the Birch World could certainly use a unique skin for the elves. I just need to figure out what it should look like.

Should be fixed now

I haven't tested it with the other ringworld sizes yet.
If there were to be compatibility with scaling mods it wouldn't be made by me as I never use them (I simply just don't understand the appeal to be honest). Because of this I don't really feel like I should be putting in extra work to make a compatibly patch for such.
Change skins? I am assuming that you are using the Elven shipset and building the megastructures like these normally would be built. It works fine for me in that case and I highly doubt Planetary Diversity has anything to do with this (even though I don't use that mod).
Savegame compatible yes, system scale compatible no
Maybe eventually I can have a look at the machine shipset but to actually set up the ringworlds the same way I did them here would require AryxCami's permission for me to make modified variants of the assets from that set. As of right now my motivation for Stellaris modding is at a low due to the Stellaris devs allowing visual bugs to persist in the basegame. But since I also really like the machine shipset this could be a possible modding project for me to do in the future.
