Weird bug, I started using this mod and it makes my all cause mortality in my colony go up.
JayleeVT 12 May, 2024 @ 3:24pm
Any chance we'd get 1.5? This mod is very helpful!
Klaudiorystka 27 Apr, 2024 @ 6:53am
you will update for 1.5?
KelpTheShark/KasumiTakeshi 13 Apr, 2024 @ 12:34am
I'd appreciate it if you update! <3
Rebel 15 Nov, 2023 @ 9:01pm
This mod gave my colonists myocarditis.
Po_Polsku 8 Jul, 2023 @ 3:20pm
and retexture if possible (more realistic)
Po_Polsku 8 Jul, 2023 @ 10:23am
This mod is great but... add a debuff for persons with train"Sensitive"
Named (get vaccined) description can be like this: OH NO! a Needle... ouch!!!
And for persons with trait "delicate" with description: i hate doctors!:steamthumbsup:
idreamofgeni 26 May, 2023 @ 3:32pm
Could you make vaccines for animals?
Three 10 Apr, 2023 @ 5:49am
Just subscribed to this interesting mod. :HKIndustry:
I hope you let the RimPy team know what order it should be loaded in. :floppy:
Thanks for the great job. :steamthumbsup:

Pretty solid idea

@_♣Caligula♣_

what did you find funny?
_♣Caligula♣_ 27 Jan, 2023 @ 2:26am
I found it quite funny.
CTH2004 25 Nov, 2022 @ 12:43pm
@Victor:

Like your idea, hate your autisim comment. There is absolutly no scientific basis for that, and it is quite insulting.
JayleeVT 25 Nov, 2022 @ 5:52am
-50 degrees is a lot, but frozen is a great idea. ^^; RIP my pile of vaccines just sitting on the floor in my hospital lolol.
sch518  [author] 24 Nov, 2022 @ 11:07am
@Victor Great suggestion! I don't know how to make the requirement that cold but now the vaccines must be kept frozen or they will spoil in one day.

The other diseases are handled differently by the game, the pawn doesn't build up an immunity, they just have to wait it out so right now I don't know how to make them immune to the other diseases but if I figure it out I will make a vaccine for them.
Victor 15 Nov, 2022 @ 8:44am
Thanks for updating to 1.4!
I have a balancing suggestion: make them require extreme cooling, just like real-world vaccines (Like -50 degrees depending on how powerful they are).
Another suggestion would be a drug for Gut Worms, like a Worm Medicine of sorts.
KelpTheShark/KasumiTakeshi 27 Oct, 2022 @ 1:30am
Tested on 1.4 myself, the vaccines seem to function just fine and block the relevant diseases. After 10+ hours, no issues. So it seems like it works fine. For those who are wondering.
JayleeVT 23 Oct, 2022 @ 1:37pm
Any chance this will be updated to 1.4? ^_^
CTH2004 24 Aug, 2022 @ 10:20am
Yeah! And then, for the "sci-fi" aspect of rimworld, a spacer-level tech to remove alergies, and prevent the effects!

Also, I have a few other suggestionsl;
1. Will you make this compatible with other diseases added by other mods? (Later, once you get better with moding)
2. could you add a way to make it part of the drug schedual, so people will take a vaccine as theirs wear off?
2a. With allergies, doctors adminsiter it to decrease effects...
Harkmagic 24 Aug, 2022 @ 6:31am
If they are OP add some risk to it. Adverse affects to vaccines are a thing, so add a small chance of adverse reactions based on quality. You need to answer allergy questions before vaccination for a reason, so run a check when receiving a vaccine to randomly have a vaccine allergy, which causes a serious allergic reaction and a permanent vaccine allergy condition. The flu vaccine is also famous for causing some people to immediately pass out after receiving it or being unsteady for about half an hour. The small pox vaccine leaves a large blister that needs to be covered for a month and if it ruptures exposure to the fluids inside can cause a potentially fatal infection. I personally also experienced a severe reaction that caused a fever high enough to do brain damage for a week.

All of these I have either experienced myself or witnessed happen. Do some research, they are rare but there are more, and they can serve as an interesting and dynamic balancing factor for your vaccines.
CTH2004 23 Aug, 2022 @ 9:59am
@Serpia
Perhaps...
But, just want to point out, lots of people are against Vaccines. All I was saying is "if you are an Anti-vaccer, I am at war with you". I'm not waiting for said fight... I hope it doesn't happen, but I can almost guarentee it will :(
Seripa 23 Aug, 2022 @ 8:34am
@CTH2004 @Alesi Latol

I highly doubt 0wlw1zrd was being serious. But you two and are looking for an echo chamber to play in, so continue waiting around for a fight that isn't there.
'atrick 21 Aug, 2022 @ 2:30pm
reddit normalshit infested comment section proceed with caution
CTH2004 21 Aug, 2022 @ 10:46am
@Alesi Latol

0wlw1zrd started already!
As I said, "Autisim Causes Autism"
Any anti-vaccers, just realize, I declared war on you!
HopeCaldwell 21 Aug, 2022 @ 6:23am
can you write what you fixed on the change notes ? it would be easier to see if an error has been fixed or not
Latol 21 Aug, 2022 @ 4:48am
im waiting for anti vaccers to start screaming
TheVillain 21 Aug, 2022 @ 4:24am
Oh wow this is amazing! Mind blowing that no one has thought of this already - especially given...recent events in the last few years ;)

I like ShoWel's idea of making them easier to produce *but* they only reduce severity of symptoms and improve recovery time. However I can imagine this is harder to code. Still AWESOME WORK.
ShoWel 21 Aug, 2022 @ 3:06am
Maybe instead of making them long to produce you should instead make it so the vaccine doesn't prevent the host getting sick, but experience a much weaker version of the disease, with a very low (or no) chance of dying, like a real life vaccine does
JayleeVT 21 Aug, 2022 @ 1:37am
Aww take your time! You made an awesome mod and everyone's flooding you with comments and demands haha ^^;; But it's only because we love it <3
sch518  [author] 20 Aug, 2022 @ 6:01pm
Def Names should be fixed now.

@sugarstar I lowered the time it takes to make them considerably. I don't know how I didn't catch that when I was testing it. I haven't had much time to work on it this week so that is just a temporary fix. I'll figure out how to make them in progress when I get some free time.
Cidjo 20 Aug, 2022 @ 11:49am
Castex approved
JayleeVT 20 Aug, 2022 @ 10:57am
Would you consider making something like an "in process vaccine" the way tailoring does, where pawns can work on it for a while and then come back? I have yet to get my pawns to complete one in one sitting, since they take so long to make. But if they stop, they lose all their progress.
✬Rustic Fox✬ 20 Aug, 2022 @ 4:41am
As stated before the Spaces in the Def Names should be replaced with underscores.
B4TD4DDY 19 Aug, 2022 @ 8:15pm
This gave my pawns the Autism Trait.
CTH2004 19 Aug, 2022 @ 12:07pm
a couple questions;
1. Will you make this compatible with other diseases added by other mods? (Later, once you get better with moding)
2. could you add a way to make it part of the drug schedual, so people will take a vaccine as theirs wear off?

And, finally, someone noticises how powerful vaccines are! They don't cause Autisim, Dementia, or any of that BS. Autisim causes Autisim, a decay of the brain causes Dementia, and Altzhimers, well, it's jsut weird.
beef boss :^) 19 Aug, 2022 @ 11:24am
Simple yet clever and useful mod, it could be a whole gameplay mod in the game to have constantly evolving viruses and such where you need to research medically to create a vaccine long term.
Gutterpunk 19 Aug, 2022 @ 7:46am
Add a 1% chance of making the pawn artistic. For the memes.
Stallion 19 Aug, 2022 @ 1:53am
Hi Fauci.
JayleeVT 18 Aug, 2022 @ 11:03pm
@Samw1ch The errors that show up in debug mode... "Config error in Make_Flu Vaccine: defName Make_Flu Vaccine should only contain letters, numbers, underscores, or dashes."

The way to fix it is to make it say "Make_Flu_Vaccine" not "Make_Flu Vaccine"
Carrot The Coyote 18 Aug, 2022 @ 11:55am
Finally. A Rimworld mod that will stop my colonists from being antivaccers
jkonjkfelsnfjnf 18 Aug, 2022 @ 4:52am
Lots of potential with this mod. Maybe you could expand it by making it possible to create poor quality vaccines that have a chance to fuck the colonist up? Just a suggestion. Dunno about 20 year timeframe, since few colonies ever last that long.
MeatBeatMarv 18 Aug, 2022 @ 1:01am
Now add the one that doesn't actually grant any immunity and causes blood clots
FeralFerret 17 Aug, 2022 @ 5:12pm
Much like real life vaccines, this looks great and highly effective! Thanks
Sandorian 17 Aug, 2022 @ 11:40am
Works like a charm. Tanks again!
The config errors are no big deal, because I only use dev mode when editing my mod list. ;-D
sch518  [author] 17 Aug, 2022 @ 10:44am
@Sandorian That should be fixed now. Still not sure why the other errors show up in debug mode.

The vaccine for the non lethal diseases looks like it might be a little more work so I will get an update for those when I get it working.
Heikkkinen 17 Aug, 2022 @ 9:16am
There is no flu in Rimworld! This is all Glitterworld conspirancy.

Thank you for this long awaited mod.
Sandorian 17 Aug, 2022 @ 8:24am
Thanks! I did some more testing myself and the config errors somehow only occur if the game is running in development mode. (I use this mode when rearranging my mod list.)
In normal mode the config errors are gone, but one error message persists:
Could not resolve cross-reference: No Verse.HediffDef named SleepingSicknessHigh found to give to Verse.DefHyperlink Verse.DefHyperlink
sch518  [author] 17 Aug, 2022 @ 7:38am
@Sandorian I have no idea why you are getting that error. I don't have any numbers in the names. I'll see if I can figure that out.

@Sugarstar I'll work on getting a vaccine for the non lethal ones. I am going to leave out blood rot and paralytic abasia for now because those require the royalty dlc and I don't think there is an event where they "spawn" on random pawns.
PetLoverSpy 17 Aug, 2022 @ 6:21am
Agreed, they are very powerful IRL and I love having this option in game if I want something more realistic! Other disease mods have more game-balanced vaccines so having this option is very cool as well ^.^
JayleeVT 17 Aug, 2022 @ 3:49am
Omg yes... thank you...

Any chance of maybe a high-end vaccine for the various "worms"? like gut worms, or... my pawns all got lung worms (wtf is a lung worm?? i prob do not want to know....)

if my dog can have heartworm prevention meds I feel like gutworm prevention meds are not far off the mark lol
