@Penrose42
The newer design is much closer to my original intentions for the weapon as a "Gun for the Horsemann." The old design I liked at the time when i had first concepted it, but after sitting on for about two years both I as the concept artist, and Hau as the modeler had grown discontent with how clean and colorful it was in comparison to the Horsemann's Headtaker, which was clearly worn out and damaged.

The older version may have perhaps had a little more charm to it, but ultimately we decided we would rather correct it to what we had intended than to leave it unchanged or to simply have two different versions of the same weapon.

ngl I preferred the older model, the color scheme was more interesting, it felt way more halloween-y, I can see why you'd want to change it since the door did make it feel a bit busy, but honestly you could've just removed the door and it'd be fine imo.

If you ignore the fact that it clips through demos arm on the inspect animation, everything about this weapons design is flawless

Perhaps you could have the candles flair up for the fuse rather than the oddly place default loose cannon fuze?

@the rotting Peach, one of my ideas for the expansion of the free contract feature is new civilian grade war paints that are just collections of reskins that you get as rewards for doing weekly and daily free contracts, my idea was a Tacticool variant of the stock weapons where fitting(no polymer grip and picatinny rails on the bottle, I am afraid) and the Polyphemus could work for a Halloween collection.

We Need To Have This For Halloween Could You Imagine A War Paint Crate With Like Five Weapon "Skins" Like This.
Great Work :)

This is genuinely so cool, I hope this and many other spooky variants of weapons get in this halloween.

I was going to say the same as Stogie down below, I'm seeing this as a drop you can get around halloween or a craftable weapon.
Still a unique stat could be one that's cosmetic such as year around when you kill someone with the weapon a little ghost rises from them before disappearing.
Or on Nights such as full moon or the Halloween season the little Pumpkins could laugh as they they are fired, and could insult people on a direct hit.
Could even be class specific insults such as Hit on Scout: "Not Fast Enough!"

This'd be a fantastic Halloween-themed reskin for the Loose Cannon. As a practitioner of the Donk arts, I'd love to see that.
...assuming the clipping issue got fixed first, of course.

I love it, though the faces on the cannonballs feel unnecessary, or a little too much, maybe it could be made of wax instead with the fuse acting as the candle top/wick?
Haau  [author] 17 Aug, 2022 @ 4:43pm
the problem is that editing the mesh itself would be a hassle given its fully unwrapped and textured. For now i'll include custom animations that fix the issue though.

This is a super neat design, but the way the Demo's hand clips through the coffin cover is a bit jarring. I'd either get rid of the coffin top, or maybe make it severely broken like its hinges were blown off. Either way, great work, love this design.

That's really cool
