@Ronnie1001 the reason why it looks the way it does in hl2 was because it was originally a combine flare gun, valve was just too lazy to properly animate it that's why he one hands it.

i believe canonically this is how it does work, but its just represetened as not functioning this way in game because of pacing and gunplay.

Sidenote, I do like EZ:2's depiction or interpretation of the AR2, the MMOD style reload as a prototype AR2, and the original HL2 AR2 reload as the current Standard Issue.

The huge mag pickups are a hold-over from when it was just a really big flare gun, when the single plug made more sense.

Alongside with that, visibility issues. You wouldn't exactly be able to spot ammo for the AR2 lying around if it was just a standalone ear-plug looking thing.

Also also, comparing it to Alyx feels kind of flawed because the Pulse SMG uses much thicker energy plugs as opposed to the small pellets the AR2 uses

Imagine getting pissed about people making mods for a new game. Just be glad what people have uploaded so far is nice stuff and that the workshop isn't 75% anime girl model replacements that have unrelated content tags.
