hey i was wondering if im doing something wrong cause they spawn in and the first time they attacked another poi spawned by MES, but the next time the spawned in they just kept going forward and reversing on flat terrain and not attacking anyone?

I haven't dabbled with character NPCs before so probably a very unlikely addition. If you do make it work though you can upload your own version of this mod! (As long as I am credited)

I don't know if you've considered adding character NPCs to this, and I also don't know how you feel about adding another dependency, but I think it would be pretty neat

Are you using any other mods that affect spawns. Things that add spawns or affect the frequency?

I really cant figure out why they arent spawning. I used the command to get eligible spawns, and the rovers are listed, but i cant even force them to spawn with a command. Stumped now, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, just read thru some of the comments. Seems like they are considered planetary cargo ships. I changed the min spawn altitude to 1, hopefully ill see some spawn now.

Sorry for the late response. My mod does not handle spawning rates for the encounters, that is something that you must do yourself for your world's MES settings. I highly recommend joining the MES discord or read their github to learn how to configure your MES config.

Is there a way to turn down their spawn rate? I am using it on scrapyard and they’re producing way too much scrap.

They should be able to, yes. The mod should spawn the encounters on any planet that fits the criteria which is 0.5-1.5G gravity

They will spawn on any planet within 0.5-1.5G gravity range. Be aware though not all planets are suitable for these encounters, they are not recommended for harsh terrain that are not good for rovers.

Im relatively new to space engineers and found the lack of danger on planets to be a little dull. Not installed any mods yet as I just wanted to get the basics before messing with anything. Will these enemies spawn anywhere on an appropriate planet or will the only spawn in the desert/wasteland areas?

Thats not something you can change on per world basis. You would need to make a custom mod for this with the target profile changes.

If they havent spotted you then yes, they drive until they encounter a player and despawn if they dont

Hello! Im glad that you like the mod :) that xml file that you mentioned manages spawn frequencies and parameters so yes that is what you need.

I am trying to better manage spawns with MES settings and I would like to know which file manages the spawns of your vehicles ?

I guess it is 'Config-PlanetaryCargoShips.xml', is that right ?

How hard is this mod? We're 4 casual players who just want some attacks so that we actually need to build a few defences.. Will they for example attack you from the beginning or do they wait until you actually got a certain pcu?

Yes, if they get stuck they depower, destroy their own beacon and remote control. This is so cleanup can pick up the grid if its setup to delete unbeaconed or unpowered grids

Is this using the Cargo Ships part of MES? I'm messing about trying to balance (reduce these spawns) to work in/with the Scrapyard play through (that uses the Planetary installations bit)

Thanks! And yeah as long as its unlisted im fine with that. To setup the prefabs for the NPCs you need to set wheels to override so it permanently goes forward. Middle wheels should be at 40-50% friction while the ones at the very front and very back should be 10-35% friction. Its setup this way because NPCs by themselves cant turn wheels so they have to use gyros and override to go forward. If you want the tank to feel tanky you can set up a speed limit on the wheels also to be lower

Sick, was just wondering, I wanted to try to stuff the ai in some of my blueprints (i dont upload anything, its just for singleplayer/with my friends) and wanted to know how much of a pain it would be. Sick mod, BTW!

The same behavior for all rovers could also be used for tanks, just need a prefab. Not within the scope of this mod though as it is wasteland themed and a proper vanilla tank would need subgrids

i just wanna say, as a Pertam Lover, this is one of the best mods, i have ever added to my world, i have a entire scrapyard of vehicles, probably hitting 40+ now and i just keep them for parts, im playing with some seriously harsh mods like food, aerodynamics, all realistic settings and a few more that make playing pertam a real challenge, so having a scrapyard of cars for parts is a absolute must have.

They are a old space engineers vanilla item, afaik they only work in interior turrets. Next time i do a update il replace those :)
