you know, i'm genuinely surprised that nobody has tried to make a VRMod discord server after the previous one got deleted.

I found some documentation deep within some of the original ArcVR weapon packs. That combined with a ton of trial and error and about a million blender tutorials, I can say confidently that it would only take me about 50 hours to do it again from scratch lol. I would set goals like, "make crossbow appear in game" then "make the trigger move when I squeeze trigger" so on and so forth until I had it actually working with all the parts moving. It wasn't super difficult, just very time consuming. If you're interested in learning, just start digging through the lua files and import some models into blender, figure out how to rig stuff with bones. Google is your friend with every step.

how do you do this. I haven't really used lua but I've been wanting to try making these vr weapons and i have experimented with editing peoples mods in the past. Is this a particularly difficult thing and is there any documentation on it?

Wonderful to see VRMod stuff is still being made. I prefer VRMod to most other VR games.

It has been adjusted so that bullets also fly as per the iron sight next to the scope, and while it still looks modern, the display of the contents of the magazine changes according to the number of rounds remaining is also very fine.
The use of the same hitscan as regular bullets for firing also differentiates it from the HL2 crossbow.

this looks super cool! excited to try this one out. i would still be making vrmod weapons like the black mesa vr weapons, but with the deletion of the discord server and support being dropped for vrmod, I lost most of my motivation. it's nice to see that vrmod stuff is still being made though!
