Have you considered updating the building effect? It seems that wh_main_dwf_smith_4 doesn't provide more capacity

@2644156313 Yes, that is intentional. The units are throwing large rocks at the enemy, not demolition charges. Give it a try, and you'll see the effect is still quite powerful despite the long reload time.

@Mystical Llama agreed, stuff in other mods (or DLC exclusive units) can feel OP compared to vanilla. Didn't mean to nitpick. Mods like yours have kept the Dawi fun to play for years while we starved for official content. Thank you.

Okay, made a few small tweaks to keep these units on level with their vanilla counterparts.

Keep in mind, the units here are a departure from normal dwarven strategy. You can't expect them to perform the same way similar units do in other armies, since they don't have a unit roster that supports them the same way.

@akeean - It's good practice to balance against vanilla units or against base units from whatever overhaul mod you happen to be using. Balancing against other unit mods is a race to the top that no one wins.

These fellas aren't mean to be a one-unit solution to all problems like some other mods. They're meant to serve a role in your army, not replace it. ;)

@Holynevil Both Rune Golem mods work together. Last time I checked, the small rune golems were not upkeep cost effective to use compared to the big ones. especially when you also run the Dawi Mechas from GHS vs SKV mod ( https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2901673186 ) - For those you'll also need the Chinese base mod too and might not be updated for 5.0 yet, but it looks like it still works?

In any case this mod is a good addition to the Dawi roster. Just wish they were a little bit cheaper or preferably a little bit more durable via physical resistance/missile resistance.

@Keador - There is a campaign cap, tied to the number of developed rune forges you have built. Check that building chain.

@SaGa - I'm not watching this 24/7, so who knows what kind of conflicts official patching will create! Let me know if you find anything during your testing. I can't guarantee compatibility with all mods out there, but I ought to be able to fix anything CA broke.

Great mod! Thanks a lot for making it. :)

But it seems I still have unit caps in my campaign. I've built a ton of runeforges, but they're still stuck at 1/1 unit cap. (And hurlers are stuck at 0/0). Could be an interaction with another mod I guess, since no-one else seems to have the same issue. I'll experiment a bit with load orders.

@Lance - I likely won't be expanding on this anytime soon, but I appreciate the ideas!

@Val'kyr - There are a bunch of mods out there which add minotaurs to Norsca factions, and they already get trolls. I think this niche is fairly filled for that faction!

@👁 - Thanks man! This unit is a massive departure from planned dwarven strategy, so I can understand why it wasn't included with the vanilla game. And "competitively" this would not fly, as it neatly covers the weaknesses planned in the dwarven roster. But fun is fun ;)

@Val'kyr Strauss - Pretty sure that's just you, my man. This mod works fine on vanilla with no other mods added.

Try disabling all other mods until you find the conflict and I'll take a look. But unless someone data-cored the original rigid models, you shouldn't be seeing the blob effect.

@ 撿骨頭 - The units themselves are just scaled up standard infantry rigid models, which were not designed to suffer the same close-camera scrutiny as larger giant models. Making them larger would just enhance this deficiency, and I'm not proficient enough with the animation tools our community has to completely remake them yet. So at this time, no.
