Finally, I needed a mod like this. It's embarrassing how a flashlight drains a battery in less than a night because of "bAlAnCe". Batteries irl can last days when left on nonstop.

i need this mod batteries last for so long...

Two people claiming mod author passed away on Dec 30.
Mod author played VRC today(Jan 13).
Mod Author commented on 2 other mods of theirs within the past 2 weeks about future update potential(Jan 2(The Lootbox Challenge) and Jan 7(Visible Generator Range)).
Mod author is online as I type this.

for anyone who is still trying to figure out a solution for their torch to last longer get this mod: "Let There Be Light (B41 IWBUMS)". this dude just overrides the default values of the game so they last longer. thats all it does.

For anyone that's interested, I've made a small addon mod for this. All it does is add 3D models for the hand cranks so they can be placed in game.

battery lifetime multiplier, not sure if lower or higher is supposed to make the battery last longer. is it even working? tried both 1 and 9999, seems like there isnt any difference

It won't let me insert batteries into the hand crank (or the makeshift variant).

I don't seem to be able to remove batteries from the hand crank 🤔

I would like to be allowed to take up the reins and update this mod with your blessing. would that be alright with you? obviously full credit will be given to you and this mod page and all that. this is just something that has been a staple in my mod list for a long time, and i would hate to see it go unsupported.

Since this mod is basically dead, anyone know any good alternatives? I'm specifically looking for a battery charger/rechargeable batteries mod.

@pwrcosmic put the link to github of your mod in its description so that people adapt it and help you modify it, even creators of other mods can help you add compatibility, since there are many, too many mods, that require the use of charging batteries, and doing it individually is going to be difficult

Sorry y'all, forgot to subscribe to this thread apparently. This mod is no longer supported as it's something I consider legacy at this point. Buggy and invasive, I may look into remaking it, but no guarantees.

every time my server crashes, this mod is the only one throwing errors, its been fun but until the errors addressed in the discussions are fixed, i don't think i can use this anymore

Any suggestions to fix? I receive the following error when game loads:

Charging works fine for me. But not all flashlights can remove the empty battery after the battery is exhausted. Some Flashlights in Better Flashlights are no longer supported.

That's what I get out of output when I use Better Batteries in my dedecated server:

RecipeManager.resolveItemModuleDotType> WARNING: module "Base" may have forgot to import module Base.

Better Batteries is the only mod I have loaded.

Can someone tell me exactly what that means and what I can do to fix the error?

i think the mod is somewhat broken. I can remove empty battery from flash light, Unable to Charge it. I added a Mod called More Electrical Crafting that have a Hand Charger to charge it up. But after that i cant put the charged battery back in the Flash Light. Have anyone Encounter this bug ?

Maximum Battery Charge setting in sandbox does not appear to be functioning.
I set it to 0.2.
When I use a hand crank, it always charges the battery to full instead of 20%
Same thing happens when I try 0.5

It won't let me insert batteries into the hand crank. Does "Better Electronics" break the hand crank?

Is the hand crank craft-able or a rare find during looting or both? Thank you!

Haven't encountered such issues in my tests.

If recharge is too fast for you then just increase the crank charge time in sandbox settings. Also, not everyone plays with Autotsar Trailers or has generator from it. So I don't know how that invalidates this mod.

Like the idea that Batteries dont vanish after reaching zero %. but the recharge is in my opinion way too fast with the hand crank. autostar have allready that, you can put up to 3 batteries in the generator-trailer and recharge them automaticly

Hi there, there is a bug, where, you can't eject full powered battery from hand crank, and can't instert empty battery. I tried too handle it by mod order, but that's not the issue. Recipies are working but crafting command can't find hand crank.

Where do I get a charger to recharge my dead batteries? I've got about 70 I was saving to recharge, but can't find anything to do so with...
Am I supposed to craft the recharger?
Recharging would be SUPER useful for me, since I have a terrible habit of forgetting to turn off my flashlight, and just running them dead, only noticing when I need to use my flashlight again, and it's dead.

To get infinite battery life on existing save, you need to change sandbox option mod, after you changed it you need to restart the whole game for it to take effect
