I'd be stunned, and I'd be stunned if it gets worked on.

Better off just using a mod that adds gunnery school to other Empire factions, even if that prolly is more than you want to deal with.

The Gunnery School mechanic has had an upgrade added that gives grapeshot to Great Cannons.

I've been trying to add this to Kislev's Little Grom as well as the Empire's Steam Tank and I just cant figure it out. I can get the ammo types to show up in game, but the unit refuses to shoot.

This is actually tabletop accurate because all cannons could use grapeshot there.

Yeah, I watched it multiple times. I finally got it to work. The problem was that I created new projectile_shot_type_enums for my new ammo types because I wanted to experiment with the battle ui. So I set the shot types in projectiles to vanilla projectile_shot_type_enums and deleted the custom ones and now it works. Turns out you can't create custom projectile_shot_type_enums.

Did you watch the video? That is all you need to do. Create the secondary projectile and link it to the ranged weapon using the table.

Would you happen to know how to make additional ammo types for war wagon mortars? I'm currently making a custom war wagon mortar unit and can't figure out what is causing the ammo types to not show up in game.

@Deathbringer Not yet. Is there a cannon you feel gets no use by Cathay due to their much better artillery? I have only played them briefly once before quitting due to it being too easy so I didn't have much time to figure out anything about their units.

Yeah checking them out you are right. I will probably be updating this mod to give them it as well because they just don't fit well into the rest of the roster as is. No wonder I couldn't remember them :)

Yeah, deck gunners do the same job way better than carronades. And then you start getting Necrofex Colossi and they are rendered completely redundant. I think having grape shot would give them an identity and niche of their own, like a more effective but way less mobile unit of shotgun zombies that can switch to solid ammo if needed.

Potentially. I have not played them in a while so as I play factions that feel like they have cannons that really should have it I will do that. But I will take a look into the Vampire Coast as well to see. Only units I ever used was deck gunners so I can't even remember carronades so that is probably a good sign that they need an update lol.

Actually cannons could use grapeshot in Tabletop, so it's only fitting they also get it in total war. That said, I can't help but notice you missed the Vampire Coast Carronades. Any plans to add this ammo selection to them in the future?
