If the only way they can pose a threat and be challenging for me is for them to cheat...then i say let them cheat.
Maybe an update is needed.
My only complaint is excessive free XP for AI. Mazda has 40 lvl on turn 50 and his generals have an average of 30 lvl. I play on legendary difficulty.
My only complaint is that it renders critical assassinations useless in the mid to late game due to every enemy hero being over level 20 by turn 50.
Legendary lords should be around lvl 8-14 by turn ~10 now, not level 50.
I ve just modified the files to reduce a little bit the XP the characters gain but it could be useful for other players to reduce it yourself or put in the description that AI characters will be very strong early game with it.
By the way, testing it I saw that the thing that feels excesive is the lvl AI characters gain after a battle, not passively per turn.
After firsts battles almost all playable AI races get to lvl 16 or more.

Still I have the same issue like the previous comments since the new dlc. By turn 20 I had to fight a level 50 Imrik with an almost only fire damage Drazhoath army. It was something.
The only other mods I had running are solely visual (settlement reskin, softer corruption and dismemberment overhaul).
And by they way sorry by bothering u that much.

If it is intended I can live with that haha but is hard as fuck having to fight against three dragons in Imrik army by turn 4 (the imrik and the fire mage one and the one of his starting army)

I dont know if all the cheats the AI get are working as intended with this mod.
I can confirm that without this mod the IA upkeep is lower than with it on (all difficulties)
Dont know if other cheats are affected or not.
Its strange because your "AI Max difficulty enabled" mod doesnt have this problem.

Archaon: great mod, more enemies willing to fight and higher tier rank 9 units in them, once the campaign gets going. Vassals are aggressively trying to expand and the map feels more alive. Victory achieved.
Fey Enchantress: If not for Orion being a murder-hobo and immediately wiping out Paravon, then chasing Skaven around my province (4 stacks came early) I'd have died. Beat them back, beat Grom, got bored, rushed Skavenblight. Rough start but seems doable.
Louen: get f***ed. Vampires wiped out one of the minor Brettonia factions by the time I killed the Greenskins, then Belakor and his vassal made their way to me at the same time as the vampires. 2 stacks for Belakor, 2 stacks for vampires. Vampires don't benefit from this mod as much as other factions as they still mostly bring trash, but they still have fast recovery
I appreciate the positive replies some are leaving, I'm enjoying this version a lot myself.

Now if we can just get the illogical war declarations from the AI out of the way we'd be 100% nearly lol.
Going to try adding hecleas's mods before this one & see if a literal s*** show starts too.
