When the mod was W.I.P., Knights of Caledor had glowing Green swords and spears! ... because of the texture mask file issue with the faction_tables. It's was cool, but not the desired effect.
This mod replaces vanilla mask files in order to use 3 colors for the factions and not only two...
Vanilla game doesn't use the 3 channels that much or effectively, only 2. I unlocked the 3rd channel for the textures and it worked. Channels are: R/G/B .
If the other mods use a blue mask for the swords, the swords will take the gem color, which in many cases red. If I remember. vanilla faction_tables_data 3rd channel was set to all black, so even if the texture mask file used Blue, it wasn't taking a specific color and swords & spears were even darker instead of silver (I noticed).
I hope it helps you understand that my mod is quite solid, and it's probably the other mods that need a fix..
I would like to apologise for my previous comment.
Basically i Have used this mod for awhile while using unit mods....... For some unknown reason this mod turns the swords of the other mods red..... i have played around and used other mod units and this mod to see what happens and it seems this mod does not work with other mods.
other than that this mod is amazing especially for avelorn.
Please add a bit more details about which units, which factions, and a screenshot if possible.
Thanks
- Updated mask files.
Thanks to @Dragon0TWest for pointing the problem.
I just realized the confusion i might have caused. i use white lions interchangeably between both
i wonder they chose a green mask
The Skavens are behind this scheme: green radioactive lions!
Thanks: I'll have a look in the game.
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3373334430 heres the screenshot of both regular and RoR lions
Please share a screenshot. Thanks.
Unfortunately not in a near future. It’s been 3 months I didn’t have access to my PC: my phone is my computer now.
Thank you for using this mod however; much appreciated.
Could you make some changes for lizardmen?
Many of their colours just look bad for the playable factions while the AI has some of the most diverse colours in the game.
Tepok's spawn for example look great while Hexoatl has jaundice
Wood Elves please :D
Avelorn needs a bit more color, it seems very Diluted, The color Vanilla theme is still there, but it needs a bit more Vibrance to it. But nothing near the vanilla scheme.
High Elves (Eataine) in Quick battle skirmish mode.
That I don't know: I didn't check if it works that way. That is something else than just cosmetics...
You have other mods interfering with the High Elves. I see in your screenshot the Shield Gems of Spearrmen are White, whereas they SHOULD BE Red (for Yvresse)
Please disable all other mods and try this mod only (keep a mod that removes LOD on distant units). You got to find the culprit to know what needs to be fixed.
NOTE: this mod DOES NOT touch the shield models, only the textures and colors. If a shield disappear, it's something else.
The outline issue on the shield pattern: it is a mask issue that in TWWH2 was fixable, but in TWWH3 it's seems that, no matter what we do to remove it, it stays there.
I hope it helps.
Can you share a screenshot?
I had a look and I didn't see anything out of ordinary beside expected color change.
Are you using other mods that may affect textures and masks?
??? Do you mean "Some units without shields"?
No update required, unless people report it needs one. This mod works (should work) with vanilla game and is intended to be.
For the Radious Submod request, I can't do it because the problem is with the Radious Mod. I won't copy Radious Mod and publish a mod with one change of mine. Radious Mod belongs to its creators.
Could you make a Knights of Caledor distinct version where they have either the same coloring as what you did with Eataine, or simply they are white? I would love to bring that nice white against the vermin in the Dark Lands.
Hmm, I see.
There's no HEF on this map.
The vivid Pink, Blue, and Red/Orange are for Slaanesh, Tzeentch, and Khorne...
There's a Green for Nurgle, which is hidden by fog of war.
Thanks for the response!

See a quick screenshot above. When you zoom out on the campaign map... some of the factions have bright distinct colours. Others are barely different from wasteland colours.
I was looking for a mod that edited faction colours so that it was much easier to see who controls various provinces when you zoom out on the map :)
Yes / No.
Only my Bretonnia New Faction Color mod 1.1 has Carcassone unit colors, the flag, and map overlay colors changed (if I didn't make any changes for the HEF, DWF, and EMP)
Please tell me more specifically with a screenshot example of what you'd want to be changed and short explanation, so I can have better idea.
Thanks
Do your color mods affect the strategic map ownership overlay? The vanilla colours are bland and often hard to decipher - I'm looking for a mod that makes them all stand out more when you zoom out
Get RPFM (Rusted Pack File Manager) - it's free.
Open Radious Mod through RPFM.
Delete everything related to HEF (High Elves) in Radious Mod through RPFM (Rusted Pack File Manager), including Data / Factions_Tables.
Save (overwrite or as new mod)
Factions_Tables is what causes the mod to not be compatible mostly (when I tested). Factions_Tables controls faction colors. Also, since I edited texture color files and mask files, might be best to just delete all related to HEF.
Load order: the mod should be loaded after Radious
You need RPFM (Rusted Pack File Manager).
From there (RPFM), you can open a mod and see the files in it - and also edit a mod (or create one - when you know how to manipulate the files).
For your need, you'd only have to open Radious mod and delete "factions_tables" in Data (as it doesn't affect textures but faction colors).
Check if this works.
If not:
Option 1:
try loading my mod after (if not already organized)
Option 2:
If by doing so you can see the new colors of my mod, but it still looks different from the images (that's because of the mask files), you'd need to delete all files related to High Elves (HEF) in Radious mod in order to make it clean and work with any other HEF mod.
