Heya, just wanted to thank you again for making the mod. It works perfectly alongside SFO. In SFO all the damage values have slightly increased for expensive units, but seeing as the rock throw is a bonus feature, it is only fair to only deal 375 armor piercing damage while his melee attack deals 500 armor piercing damage. Thanks for giving them such flavor and giving the wood elves an artillary piece this way!

neat mod. Not tried it yet, it likely will not need updated. I will use it tonight.

It bewilders me that the treeman did not already get an ability like this. As Wood Elves have no artillery,

@Lampros - On mine it's showing the Treeman/Cygor ranges as 350/400. It's been a couple of years since I first made the mod but I imagine it's either that the Cygor has had its range buffed since, or that I felt that as the treeman is much tougher in melee it helped with balance, but it's been longer than my memory works!

@npdejong - There's no SFO version as I've not used SFO at all.

The range of the throw is quite a bit lower than the Cygor version. Intended - or oversight? If intended, then may I ask why?

Thanks for spotting that, it seems at some point they changed the keys for attribute groups so mine was missing it all. Fixed and updated now!

This is a very helpful mod, but it still miss something. The treeman lost many passive skills. I just list all the skills it doesn't have now: causes fear, causes terror, expert charge defence, vanguard deployment, hide(forest) and woodsman. It will be better if you can add them back. I mean some skill are quite important. Still thanks for the mod!:MHRISE_OK:

Just tested it and it still works, I tried to "update" it anyway through the launcher but it doesn't appear to have done anything, either way, it still works fine.

To be honest, because of the animation, it doesn't have the lifting up the boulder bit from the cygor, so when the fire rate is low it looks like it's just standing around doing nothing, which is why I opted for higher rate of fire and lower damage

Remember stat mods can up damages on some units as well - Also I don't think they are overpowered at all. They are by far better artillery than the HElf bolt throwers... hence why I love them when I confederate Alarielle. Heh!

Firstly thanks for the feedback! I'm a bit confused as to the numbers you're getting.
The treeman has:
Range:350
Damage: 375

The Cygor is:
Range: 400
Damage: 373

As for ammunition, the treeman has 30, cygor 25. The main reason the treeman has more ammo is because each individual attack is weaker, but the fire rate is higher, which results in the damage being roughly the same (375/373) but it uses ammo much faster, hence the 5 more ammo.

I've just checked my game now and that's the stats that are coming up in custom battle, I think if you're getting the treeman with 4x more damage than the cygor there must be some bug/incompatibility on your end.

With regards to balance while I did weaken the melee stats of the treeman compared to vanilla, I might reduce them a bit more.

I really like this but I want to at least tone it down to Cygor levels for multiplayer because treemen are already stong as is and having a missile attack with over 4 times the damage and even more ammo feels like a lot, would you consider releasing a separate version or allowing me to release one?

Yeah, it changes the stat-line of the current treeman, so if you add it, all the treemen will get the ranged attack, if you remove it, they'll just go back to default.

@Natro166 That is odd, so even in melee mode, when you give an order they just throw rocks? Unfortunately I haven't been able to replicate that error so there's not a lot I can do really.

hmm weird. I thought that it might be my other mods - but even if I deactivate everything else, they still only throw rocks and won't go into melee until ammo is empty.

Maybe it's bugged - I'll try to clear my mod data.

@Natro166 I've just had a look at this, mine seems to me acting like other missile units.

If the ent has an attack order, if you put it in melee mode, it will turn that attack order into a melee one.

If the ent doesn't have an order, if you put it in melee mode, but fire at will is still on, it will keep firing, if you then give it an attack order it moves to melee.
