Just activate it and go to custom battle with the empire, if the handgunners reload just fine then it doesn't need to be updated, if they stop firing or the animations look janky it needs an update. That's all really.
Other than that, there's been some issues with loading animpacks in the latest release, while it doesn't directly affect Reloading it's not impossible that it happens later down the line.
Today I got a blackscreen in a 123 Turn campaign everytime I would load into a battle with the Wood Elves as their crisis started. I had some battles with them before, but at this point the screen went black and it would not load, no matter if it was Findol or Durthu.
So I disabled all 22 mods, but then the save file would not load, so I had to enable everything and then disable the mods one by one. I assumed it would be the community bugfix or the reloading animations, since the army was mostly consisting of ranged units and i recruited a new army with new units, the Outridergrenade launcher from Electorcounts. So maybe it is not the WE, but it definitely turned out to be the "Reloading Animations"- mod. I put a screenshot for you to see what units were engaged in battle: https://imgur.com/a/htna4LV
Re-read the Description
Thought I'd ask because I see reloading anims for Vanilla units, but none for the modded ones (though it seems they were using vanilla skeletons for anims)
i think so this mod still nomarlly works...
but by the 4~5 times patch update in today on August, there in mod seems to be a different error.
gunner units not seems problem.
but the Reload motion/animation of the archer units is not natural, or like a 3D polygonal doll standing with arms raised like a scarecrow stand.

Are you using Matched Combat? The patch for that and Reloading Animations has not been updated for some time now, not sure if it still works.
